Seat Heater System





SEAT: SEAT HEATER SYSTEM: B14F2: Seat Heater Temperature Sensor Malfunction
B14F2 - Seat Heater Temperature Sensor Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

Outputs to the rear cushion cover's temperature sensor stop if one of the following occurs: 1) the temperature sensor is open or shorted; or 2) the temperature sensor is damaged and its output value does not change.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK FOR DTC

(a) Check for DTCs Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

B -- READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (SEAT HEATER TEMPERATURE SENSOR)
A -- Continue to next step.

2. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (SEAT HEATER TEMPERATURE SENSOR)

(a) Check the Data List for proper functioning of the temperature sensor.

Rear Left Seat A/C





OK:

The display is as specified in the normal condition.

NG -- INSPECT REAR SEAT CUSHION COVER LH

OK -- REPLACE SEAT CLIMATE CONTROL ECU LH Disassembly

3. INSPECT REAR SEAT CUSHION COVER LH





(a) Disconnect the cushion cover LH connector.

(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPLACE REAR SEAT CUSHION COVER LH Disassembly
OK -- Continue to next step.

4. INSPECT REAR SEATBACK COVER LH

(a) Disconnect the cushion cover connector.





(b) Disconnect the f15 seatback cover connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPLACE REAR SEATBACK COVER LH Disassembly
OK -- Continue to next step.

5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SEAT CLIMATE CONTROL ECU LH - REAR SEATBACK COVER LH AND BODY GROUND)





(a) Disconnect the f14 ECU connector.

(b) Disconnect the f15 seatback cover connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

OK -- REPLACE SEAT CLIMATE CONTROL ECU LH Disassembly

6. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (SEAT HEATER TEMPERATURE SENSOR)

(a) Check the Data List for proper functioning of the temperature sensor.

Rear Right Seat A/C





OK:

The display is as specified in the normal condition.

NG -- INSPECT REAR SEAT CUSHION COVER RH

OK -- REPLACE SEAT CLIMATE CONTROL ECU RH Disassembly

7. INSPECT REAR SEAT CUSHION COVER RH





(a) Remove the cushion cover connector.

(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPLACE REAR SEAT CUSHION COVER RH Disassembly
OK -- Continue to next step.

8. INSPECT REAR SEATBACK COVER RH

(a) Disconnect the cushion cover connector.





(b) Disconnect the f3 seatback cover connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPLACE REAR SEATBACK COVER RH Disassembly
OK -- Continue to next step.

9. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SEAT CLIMATE CONTROL ECU RH - REAR SEATBACK COVER RH AND BODY GROUND)





(a) Disconnect the f7 ECU connector.

(b) Disconnect the f3 seatback cover connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

OK -- REPLACE SEAT CLIMATE CONTROL ECU RH Disassembly
