LIGHTING (EXT): HIGH INTENSITY DISCHARGE HEADLIGHT BULB: REMOVAL
1. PRECAUTION (w/ Navigation System for HDD)
NOTICE:
After the engine switch is turned off, the display and navigation module display (HDD navigation system) records various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, make sure to wait at least 60 seconds before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.
3. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL Removal
4. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH (for LH Side) Removal
5. REMOVE WASHER HOSE (for LH Side)
(a) Remove the bolt and the washer hose.
6. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER RH (for RH Side) Removal
7. REMOVE INLET NO. 1 AIR CLEANER (for RH Side)
for 2GR-FSE Removal
for 4GR-FSE Removal
8. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP WITH AIR CLEANER HOSE (for RH Side) Removal
9. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CASE SUB-ASSEMBLY (for RH Side)
for 2GR-FSE Removal
for 4GR-FSE Removal
10. REMOVE NO. 1 HEADLIGHT BACK COVER
(a) Remove the No. 1 headlight back cover as shown in the illustration.
11. REMOVE NO. 1 HEADLIGHT COVER GASKET
(a) Remove the No. 1 headlight cover gasket.
NOTICE:
After the No. 1 headlight cover gasket is removed, be sure to replace it with a new one. Failure to do this may cause water ingress.
12. REMOVE DISCHARGE HEADLIGHT BULB
(a) Separate the light control ECU socket as shown in the illustration.
(b) Release the set spring and remove the discharge headlight bulb as shown in the illustration.
NOTICE:
Do not touch the bulb glass.
