DESCRIPTION

The main body ECU LH (cowl side junction block LH) receives a HI position signal from the windshield wiper switch assembly to operate the wiper motor at high speed.

Even if the ECU malfunctions, this circuit structure enables it to operate the wiper in HI operation mode.

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK MAIN BODY ECU LH (COWL SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK LH)

(a) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

NG -- INSPECT WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH ASSEMBLY

OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE Symptom Related Diagnostic Procedures

2. INSPECT WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the windshield wiper switch assembly Removal





(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

NG -- REPLACE WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH ASSEMBLY Removal
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH ASSEMBLY - BODY GROUND)

(a) Disconnect the J26 windshield wiper switch assembly connector.





(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH ASSEMBLY - MAIN BODY ECU LH)

(a) Disconnect the Q2 main body ECU LH (cowl side junction block LH) connector.





(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:
