Rear Knuckle Alignment Link: Testing and Inspection
SUSPENSION: TOE CONTROL LINK: INSPECTION
1. INSPECT TOE CONTROL LINK
(a) Secure the rear upper No. 2 control arm in a vise between aluminum plates.
NOTICE:
Do not overtighten the vise.
(b) Temporarily install the nut, and flip the ball joint stud back and forth 5 times as shown in the illustration.
(c) Use a torque wrench to turn the nut continuously at a rate of 3 to 5 seconds per turn. Take the torque reading on the 5th turn.
Turning torque:
0.9 to 3.5 N*m (9.17 to 35.7 kgf*cm, 0.6 to 2.5 ft.*lbf) or less
If the value is not within the specified range, replace the rear suspension toe control link with a new one.
(d) Check the dust boot for cracks or grease leakage.
