Installation





AXLE: STEERING KNUCKLE: INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL STEERING KNUCKLE

(a) Install the steering knuckle to the upper suspension arm with a nut.





Torque : 87 Nm (887 kgf-cm, 64 ft-lbf)

(b) Install a new clip.

NOTICE:
If the holes for the clip are not aligned, further tighten the nut up to 60°.

2. INSTALL TIE ROD ASSEMBLY (for 4WD)

(a) Install the tie rod end to the steering knuckle with the nut.





Torque : 65 Nm (663 kgf-cm, 48 ft-lbf)

(b) Install a new clip.

NOTICE:
If the holes for the clip are not aligned, further tighten the nut up to 60°.

3. INSTALL FRONT LOWER BALL JOINT ASSEMBLY (for 2WD)

(a) Install the steering knuckle to the lower ball joint with the 2 bolts.





Torque : 120 Nm (1,224 kgf-cm, 89 ft-lbf)

4. INSTALL FRONT LOWER BALL JOINT ASSEMBLY (for 4WD)

(a) Install the steering knuckle to the lower ball joint with the 2 bolts.





Torque : 120 Nm (1,224 kgf-cm, 89 ft-lbf)

5. INSTALL FRONT AXLE HUB SUB-ASSEMBLY (for 2WD) Installation

6. INSTALL FRONT AXLE HUB SUB-ASSEMBLY (for 4WD) Installation

7. INSTALL FRONT DISC Reassembly

8. INSTALL FRONT DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY (for 2WD) Installation

9. INSTALL FRONT DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY (for 4WD) Installation

10. INSTALL FRONT AXLE HUB NUT (for 4WD)

(a) Clean the threaded parts on the drive shaft and axle hub nut using a non-residue solvent.

NOTICE:
* Be sure to perform this work for a new drive shaft.
* Keep the threaded parts free of oil and foreign objects.

(b) Using a socket wrench (30 mm), install a new axle hub nut.

Torque : 294 Nm (2,998 kgf-cm, 217 ft-lbf)

(c) Using a chisel and hammer, stake the front axle hub nut.





11. INSTALL FRONT SPEED SENSOR (for 2WD) Installation

12. INSTALL FRONT SPEED SENSOR (for 4WD) Installation

13. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL

Torque : 103 Nm (1,050 kgf-cm, 76 ft-lbf)

14. INSPECT AND ADJUST FRONT WHEEL ALIGNMENT

Front Wheel Alignment

15. CHECK FOR SPEED SENSOR SIGNAL

(a) Check for the speed sensor signal Test Mode Procedure.
