Rear Upper No. 2 Control Arm
SUSPENSION: REAR UPPER NO. 2 CONTROL ARM: INSPECTION
1. INSPECT REAR UPPER NO. 2 CONTROL ARM
(a) Secure the toe control link in a vise between aluminum plates.
(b) Temporarily install the nut, and flip the ball joint stud back and forth 5 times as shown in the illustration.
(c) Use a torque wrench to turn the nut continuously at a rate of 3 to 5 seconds per turn. Take the torque reading on the 5th turn.
Turning torque:
0.5 to 3.4 N*m (5.1 to 34.7 kgf*cm, 0.4 to 2.5 ft*lbf)
If the value is not within the specified range, replace the rear upper No. 2 control arm with a new one.
(d) Check the dust boot for cracks or grease leakage.
