Removal

4GR-FSE STARTING: STARTER: REMOVAL

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

2. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL Removal

3. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH Removal

4. REMOVE REAR NO. 1 FLOOR PANEL BRACE Removal

5. REMOVE FRONT CENTER FLOOR BRACE Removal

6. DISCONNECT HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (for 2WD) Removal

7. DISCONNECT HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (for 4WD) Removal

8. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY Removal

9. REMOVE FRONT PROPELLER SHAFT ASSEMBLY (for 4WD) Removal

10. REMOVE NO. 1 EXHAUST PIPE SUPPORT BRACKET SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the 2 bolts and No. 1 exhaust pipe support bracket sub-assembly from the automatic transmission assembly.





11. REMOVE EXHAUST MANIFOLD SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

(a) Remove the 2 bolts and ground cable.





(b) Remove the bolt and engine wire bracket.

(c) Remove the bolt and nut, and separate the engine room No. 3 relay block.





(d) Disconnect the air fuel ratio sensor (for sensor 1) connector.





(e) Remove the 6 nuts, exhaust manifold and gasket.





12. REMOVE STARTER ASSEMBLY

(a) Disconnect the terminal 50 connector from the starter assembly.





(b) Detach the terminal cap.

(c) Remove the nut and disconnect the wire harness from terminal 30.

(d) Remove the 2 bolts and starter.
