Removal





SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM: FRONT SEAT SIDE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY (for Manual Seat): REMOVAL

CAUTION:
* Be sure to read Precaution thoroughly before servicing Service Precautions.
* If the side airbag was deployed, replace the front seat airbag assembly, front seat back cover and front seat with adjuster frame assembly with the necessary parts in accordance with the extent of the collision damage.
* Wear protective gloves. Sharp areas on the seat frame and adjuster may injure your hands.
HINT
Use the same procedures for the LH side and RH side.

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

NOTICE:
Wait for 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable to prevent the airbag and seat belt pretensioner from deploying Service Precautions.

2. REMOVE FRONT SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY

3. REMOVE FRONT INNER SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER Removal

4. REMOVE FRONT OUTER SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER Removal

5. REMOVE REAR OUTER SEAT TRACK COVER Removal

6. REMOVE REAR INNER SEAT TRACK COVER Removal

7. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY Removal

8. REMOVE FRONT SEAT HEADREST SUPPORT Disassembly

9. REMOVE FRONT SEAT HEADREST SUPPORT

10. REMOVE FRONT SEATBACK COVER WITH PAD Disassembly

11. REMOVE FRONT SEAT SIDE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

(a) Disconnect the 5 wire harness clamps from under the seat.





(b) Disconnect the 2 clamps.





(c) Remove the 2 nuts and the front seat side airbag assembly.

CAUTION:
* The nuts must not be reused.
* Make sure that the seat frame assembly is not deformed. If it is, replace it with a new one.
