INSTRUMENT PANEL: INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD: REMOVAL
1. PRECAUTION
Service Precautions
NOTICE:
w/ Navigation System for HDD:
After the engine switch is turned off, the display and navigation module display (HDD navigation system) records various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, make sure to wait at least 60 seconds before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
2. ALIGN FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD
3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
4. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Automatic Transmission)
(a) Turn the shift lever knob counterclockwise and remove the shift lever knob sub-assembly.
5. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Manual Transmission)
(a) Turn the shift lever knob counterclockwise and remove the shift lever knob sub-assembly.
6. REMOVE UPPER NO. 1 CONSOLE PANEL GARNISH (for Automatic Transmission)
(a) Using a moulding remover, disengage the claw as shown in the illustration.
(b) Pull the upper No. 1 console panel garnish in the direction indicated by the arrow to disengage the 2 clips and remove the upper No. 1 console panel garnish.
7. REMOVE UPPER NO. 2 CONSOLE PANEL GARNISH (for Automatic Transmission)
(a) Using a moulding remover, disengage the claw as shown in the illustration.
(b) Pull the upper No. 2 console panel garnish in the direction indicated by the arrow to disengage the 2 clips and remove the upper No. 2 console panel garnish.
8. REMOVE CONSOLE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Automatic Transmission)
(a) Pull the console panel sub-assembly in the direction indicated by the arrow to disengage the 8 clips
(b) Disconnect the connectors and remove the console panel sub-assembly.
9. REMOVE REAR CONSOLE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Manual Transmission)
(a) Pull the rear console panel sub-assembly in the direction indicated by the arrow to disengage the 7 claws and 2 clips, and remove the rear console panel sub-assembly.
(b) w/ Seat Heater System:
(1) Disconnect the connector.
10. REMOVE FRONT CONSOLE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Manual Transmission)
(a) Open the snap.
(b) Pull the front console panel sub-assembly in the direction indicated by the arrow to disengage the 6 clips and remove the front console panel sub-assembly.
11. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL BOX ASSEMBLY (w/o Ashtray)
(a) Remove the 2 screws [F].
(b) Pull the instrument panel box assembly in the direction indicated by the arrow, disconnect the connector and remove the instrument panel box assembly.
12. REMOVE FRONT ASH RECEPTACLE BOX SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Ashtray)
(a) Remove the 2 screws [F].
(b) Pull the front ash receptacle box sub-assembly in the direction indicated by the arrow, disconnect the connectors and remove the front ash receptacle box sub-assembly.
13. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX REGISTER ASSEMBLY (w/o Ashtray)
(a) Using a moulding remover, disengage the 2 claws and 4 clips, and remove the console box register assembly.
14. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX REGISTER ASSEMBLY (w/ Ashtray)
(a) Remove the rear ash receptacle assembly.
(b) Disengage the 2 claws and 4 clips to remove the console box register assembly.
15. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX
(a) Remove the 2 bolts [C].
(b) Disconnect the 2 connectors.
(c) Disengage the 2 clamps.
(d) Remove the 2 bolts [C].
(e) Remove the 2 bolts [C].
(f) Disconnect each connector.
(g) Disengage the 2 claws and 2 clips, and then remove the console box.
16. REMOVE NO. 3 INSTRUMENT PANEL REGISTER ASSEMBLY
(a) Using a screwdriver, disengage the 4 claws.
HINT
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
(b) Apply protective tape to the areas shown in the illustration.
(c) Using a moulding remover, disengage the 4 claws starting from the left of the No. 3 instrument panel register assembly. Disengage the remaining 3 claws by pulling the No. 3 instrument panel register assembly by hand.
NOTICE:
Do not pry the lower part of the No. 3 instrument panel register assembly. Doing so may damage the assembly.
(d) Disconnect the connector and remove the No. 3 instrument panel register assembly.
17. REMOVE CENTER LOWER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL
(a) Disengage the 4 claws to remove the center lower instrument cluster finish panel.
18. REMOVE DISPLAY AND NAVIGATION MODULE DISPLAY WITH RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY (w/ Multi-display) Removal
19. REMOVE INTEGRATION CONTROL PANEL WITH RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY (w/o Multi-display) Removal
20. REMOVE LOWER NO. 2 STEERING WHEEL COVER Removal
21. REMOVE LOWER NO. 3 STEERING WHEEL COVER Removal
22. REMOVE STEERING PAD Removal
23. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY Removal
24. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN COVER (for Power Tilt and Power Telescopic Steering Column) Removal
25. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN COVER (for Manual Tilt and Manual Telescopic Steering Column) Removal
26. REMOVE TURN SIGNAL SWITCH ASSEMBLY WITH SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal
27. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH (w/o Illumination) Removal
28. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH (w/ Illumination) Removal
29. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM COVER LH
(a) Disengage the 6 claws to remove the front door opening trim cover LH.
30. REMOVE SIDE INSTRUMENT PANEL LH
(a) Using a moulding remover, disengage the 5 claws and 3 clips to remove the side instrument panel LH.
31. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the 2 screws [E].
(b) Push the 2 claws in the direction indicated by the arrow to disengage them.
(c) Remove the No. 1 instrument panel under cover sub-assembly from the guide as shown in the illustration and pull the cover toward the rear of the vehicle.
(d) Disconnect the connectors and remove the No. 1 instrument panel under cover sub-assembly.
32. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Disengage the 7 clips.
(b) Disconnect the connectors and remove the lower instrument panel finish panel sub-assembly.
33. REMOVE DRIVER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY Removal
34. REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the 2 screws [G] and 2 clips, and then remove the instrument cluster finish panel sub-assembly.
35. REMOVE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY
(a) Using a screwdriver, disengage the 2 claws.
HINT
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
(b) Disconnect the connectors and remove the combination meter assembly.
36. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH (w/o Illumination)
HINT
Use the same procedure as for the LH side.
37. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH (w/ Illumination)
HINT
Use the same procedure as for the LH side.
38. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM COVER RH
(a) Disengage the 6 claws to remove the front door opening trim cover RH.
39. REMOVE SIDE INSTRUMENT PANEL RH
(a) Using a moulding remover, disengage the 5 claws and 3 clips to remove the side instrument panel RH.
40. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Using a moulding remover, disengage the 4 clips and remove the No. 2 instrument panel under cover sub-assembly.
41. REMOVE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY Removal
42. REMOVE GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the 5 screws [E].
(b) Disengage the 2 claws.
(c) Disconnect the connectors and remove the glove compartment door assembly.
43. REMOVE POWER SOURCE CONTROL ECU
(a) Remove the bolt and 2 nuts.
(b) Disconnect the connector to remove the power source control ECU.
44. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH Removal
45. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH RH
HINT
Use the same procedure as for the LH side.
46. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL REGISTER ASSEMBLY
(a) Pull the No. 1 instrument panel register assembly in the direction indicated by the arrow to disengage the 7 claws and 2 clips, disconnect the connector and remove the No. 1 instrument panel register assembly.
47. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL REGISTER ASSEMBLY
(a) Pull the No. 2 instrument panel register assembly in the direction indicated by the arrow to disengage the 4 claws and 2 clips, disconnect the connector and remove the No. 2 instrument panel register assembly.
48. REMOVE NO. 3 INSTRUMENT PANEL SPEAKER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Using a screwdriver, disengage the 7 claws and 2 clips, and remove the No. 3 instrument panel speaker panel sub-assembly.
HINT
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
49. REMOVE FRONT STEREO COMPONENT SPEAKER ASSEMBLY (w/ Front Center Speaker) Removal
50. REMOVE NO. 2 CONSOLE BOX DUCT (for Automatic Transmission)
(a) Remove the 2 clips and No. 2 console box duct.
51. REMOVE NO. 2 CONSOLE BOX DUCT (for Manual Transmission)
(a) Remove the clip and No. 2 console box duct.
52. REMOVE NO. 1 CONSOLE BOX DUCT
(a) Remove the clip and No. 1 console box duct.
53. DISCONNECT INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE ASSEMBLY Removal
54. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD ASSEMBLY
(a) Disengage the clamps.
(b) Disconnect the connectors.
(c) Disengage the 2 claws and separate the cooler thermistor.
(d) Remove the 6 bolts [D] and nut [H].
(e) Remove the 2 passenger airbag bolts [A] or [B].
(f) Disengage the 2 clamps.
(g) Disengage the 5 claws and remove the instrument panel safety pad assembly.
55. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL CLIP
(a) Disengage the 4 claws to remove the 4 instrument panel clips.
56. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL STAY
(a) Disengage the claw to remove the instrument panel stay.
