EXTERIOR: NAME PLATE: REMOVAL
HINT
When removing an emblem or name plate, heat the vehicle body and emblem or name plate using a heat light.
Heating Temperature
NOTICE:
Do not heat the vehicle body, emblem or name plate excessively.
1. REMOVE SYMBOL EMBLEM
(a) Put protective tape around the symbol emblem.
(b) Insert a piano wire between the vehicle body and symbol emblem.
(c) Tie objects that can serve as handles (for example, wooden blocks) to both wire ends.
(d) Pull the piano wire and scrape off the double-sided tape that holds the moulding to the vehicle body.
NOTICE:
* If reusing the emblem, take care not to damage the symbol emblem.
* Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.
(e) Remove the symbol emblem.
2. REMOVE NO. 1 LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR NAME PLATE (w/ Brand Name Plate)
(a) Put protective tape around the No. 1 luggage compartment door name plate.
(b) Insert a piano wire between the vehicle body and No. 1 luggage compartment door name plate.
(c) Tie objects that can serve as handles (for example, wooden blocks) to both wire ends.
(d) Pull the piano wire and scrape off the double-sided tape that holds the moulding to the vehicle body.
NOTICE:
* If reusing the name plate, take care not to damage the No. 1 luggage compartment door name plate.
* Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.
(e) Remove the No. 1 luggage compartment door name plate.
3. REMOVE NO. 3 LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR PLATE
(a) Put protective tape around the No. 3 luggage compartment door plate.
(b) Insert a piano wire between the vehicle body and No. 3 luggage compartment door plate.
(c) Tie objects that can serve as handles (for example, wooden blocks) to both wire ends.
(d) Pull the piano wire and scrape off the double-sided tape that holds the moulding to the vehicle body.
NOTICE:
* If reusing the door plate, take care not to damage the No. 3 luggage compartment door plate.
* Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.
(e) Remove the No. 3 luggage compartment door plate.
4. REMOVE NO. 2 FRONT FENDER NAME PLATE
(a) Put protective tape around the No. 2 front fender name plate.
(b) Insert a piano wire between the vehicle body and No. 2 front fender name plate.
(c) Tie objects that can serve as handles (for example, wooden blocks) to both wire ends.
(d) Pull the piano wire and cut through the double-sided tape that holds the name plate to the vehicle body.
NOTICE:
* If reusing the name plate, take care not to damage the No. 2 front fender name plate.
* Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.
(e) Disengage the 2 pins and remove the No. 2 front fender name plate.
5. REMOVE NO. 1 FRONT FENDER NAME PLATE
(a) Put protective tape around the No. 1 front fender name plate.
(b) Insert a piano wire between the vehicle body and No. 1 front fender name plate.
(c) Tie objects that can serve as handles (for example, wooden blocks) to both wire ends.
(d) Pull the piano wire and cut through the double-sided tape that holds the name plate to the vehicle body.
NOTICE:
* If reusing the name plate, take care not to damage the No. 1 front fender name plate.
* Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.
(e) Disengage the 2 pins and remove the No. 1 front fender name plate.
