Installation





EXTERIOR: NAME PLATE: INSTALLATION

HINT
When installing an emblem or name plate, heat the vehicle body and emblem or name plate using a heat light.

Heating Temperature





NOTICE:
Do not heat the vehicle body, emblem or name plate excessively.

1. INSTALL NO. 2 FRONT FENDER NAME PLATE

(a) Clean the vehicle body surface.

(1) Using a heat light, heat the vehicle body surface.

(2) Remove the double-sided tape from the vehicle body.

(3) Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.

(b) Clean the No. 2 front fender name plate (if reusing the No. 2 front fender name plate).

(1) Using a heat light, heat the No. 2 front fender name plate.

(2) Remove the double-sided tape from the No. 2 front fender name plate.

(3) Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.

(4) Apply new double-sided tape to the No. 2 front fender name plate.

(c) Install the No. 2 front fender name plate.

(1) Using a heat light, heat the vehicle body and No. 2 front fender name plate.

(2) Remove the release paper from the face of the No. 2 front fender name plate.

HINT
After removing the release paper, keep the exposed adhesive free from foreign matter.

(3) Engage the 2 pins and install the No. 2 front fender name plate.





2. INSTALL NO. 1 FRONT FENDER NAME PLATE

(a) Clean the vehicle body surface.

(1) Using a heat light, heat the vehicle body surface.

(2) Remove the double-sided tape from the vehicle body.

(3) Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.

(b) Clean the No. 1 front fender name plate (if reusing the No. 1 front fender name plate).

(1) Using a heat light, heat the No. 1 front fender name plate.

(2) Remove the double-sided tape from the No. 1 front fender name plate.

(3) Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.

(4) Apply new double-sided tape to the No. 1 front fender name plate.

(c) Install the No. 1 front fender name plate.

(1) Using a heat light, heat the vehicle body and No. 1 front fender name plate.

(2) Remove the release paper from the face of the No. 1 front fender name plate.

HINT
After removing the release paper, keep the exposed adhesive free from foreign matter.

(3) Engage the 2 pins and install the No. 1 front fender name plate.





3. INSTALL NO. 3 LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR PLATE

(a) Clean the vehicle body surface.

(1) Using a heat light, heat the vehicle body surface.

(2) Remove the double-sided tape from the vehicle body.

(3) Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.

(b) Clean the No. 3 luggage compartment door plate. (If reusing the No. 3 luggage compartment door plate)

(1) Using a heat light, heat the No. 3 luggage compartment door plate.

(2) Remove the double-sided tape from the No. 3 luggage compartment door plate.

(3) Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.

(4) Apply new double-sided tape to the No. 3 luggage compartment door plate.

(c) Install the No. 3 luggage compartment door plate.

(1) Using a heat light, heat the vehicle body and No. 3 luggage compartment door plate.

(2) Remove the release paper from the face of the No. 3 luggage compartment door plate.

HINT
After removing the release paper, keep the exposed adhesive free from foreign matter.

(3) Install the No. 3 luggage compartment door plate.





4. INSTALL NO. 1 LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR NAME PLATE (w/ Brand Name Plate)

(a) Clean the vehicle body surface.

(1) Using a heat light, heat the vehicle body surface.

(2) Remove the double-sided tape from the vehicle body.

(3) Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.

(b) Cut the transfer sheet of a new luggage compartment No. 1 door name plate at the cutting lines.





(c) Fold the transfer sheet at the folding lines as shown in the illustration and use the transfer sheet to temporarily position the luggage compartment No. 1 door name plate on the vehicle body.





(d) Using a heat light, heat the luggage compartment No. 1 door name plate and the vehicle body surface.

NOTICE:
Take care to avoid being burned by the heat light or heated portion of the vehicle body.

(e) Remove the release paper from the double-sided tape without touching the exposed adhesive.

(f) Align the luggage compartment No. 1 door name plate using the cuts and folds in the transfer sheet and install it to the vehicle body.

NOTICE:
Apply sufficient pressure to attach the luggage compartment No. 1 door name plate.

(g) Remove the transfer sheet as shown in the illustration.





5. INSTALL SYMBOL EMBLEM

(a) Clean the vehicle body surface.

(1) Using a heat light, heat the vehicle body surface.

(2) Remove the double-sided tape from the vehicle body.

(3) Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.

(b) Clean the symbol emblem. (If reusing the symbol emblem)

(1) Using a heat light, heat the symbol emblem.

(2) Remove the double-sided tape from the symbol emblem.

(3) Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.

(4) Apply new double-sided tape to the symbol emblem.

(c) Install the symbol emblem.

(1) Using a heat light, heat the vehicle body and symbol emblem.

(2) Remove the release paper from the face of the symbol emblem.

HINT
After removing the release paper, keep the exposed adhesive free from foreign matter.

(3) Install the symbol emblem.
