POWER STEERING: POWER STEERING SYSTEM: C1552, C1554: PIG Power Supply Voltage Malfunction


DESCRIPTION

This circuit supplies power to drive the power steering motor.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK CONNECTORS

(a) Check the connection of the power steering ECU assembly connector.

(b) Visually inspect the terminals of the power steering ECU assembly connector.

Result:





B -- CONNECT CONNECTORS CORRECTLY

C -- REPLACE POWER STEERING ECU ASSEMBLY
A -- Continue to next step.

2. INSPECT FUSE (EPS FUSE)

(a) Remove the EPS fuse from the No. 1 engine room relay block.

(b) Check for continuity of the EPS fuses.

OK:

Continuity

NG -- REPLACE FUSE
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER STEERING ECU ASSEMBLY - BATTERY)

(a) Disconnect the A31 connector from the power steering ECU assembly.





(b) Measure the voltage according value(s) in the table below.

Standard voltage:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER STEERING ECU ASSEMBLY - BODY GROUND)

(a) Measure the resistance according value(s) in the table below.





Standard resistance:





NOTICE:
If replacing the power steering ECU assembly, initialize the rotation angle sensor value and calibrate the torque sensor zero point Programming and Relearning.

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

OK -- REPLACE POWER STEERING ECU ASSEMBLY
