Navigation System (for HDD)
NAVIGATION: NAVIGATION SYSTEM (for HDD): B1590, B156A: No Response from Gateway ECU
B1590 - No Response from Gateway ECU
B156A - Gateway ECU Disconnected
DESCRIPTION
The display and navigation module display and network gateway ECU are connected by the AVC-LAN communication line.
When an AVC-LAN communication error occurs between the display and navigation module display and network gateway ECU, these DTCs will be stored.
HINT
* *1: Even if no fault is present, this DTC may be stored depending on the battery condition or engine start voltage.
* The display and navigation module display is the master unit.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
NOTICE:
Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.
PROCEDURE
1. CHECK OPTIONAL COMPONENTS (INCLUDING ASSOCIATED WIRING)
(a) Check for optional components.
(1) Check that optional components (including associated wiring) which generate radio waves are not installed.
Result:
HINT
* Electrical noise from radio waves generated by optional components or the wiring for those components may affect AVC-LAN communication.
* This DTC may be stored when an AVC-LAN communication error occurs due to electrical noise.
B -- CHECK DTC
A -- Continue to next step.
2. REMOVE OPTIONAL COMPONENTS (INCLUDING ASSOCIATED WIRING)
(a) Remove optional components (including associated wiring).
NOTICE:
Do not remove optional components or associated wiring without the permission of the customer.
NEXT -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK DTC
(a) Clear the DTCs Navigation System (for HDD).
(b) Recheck for DTCs and check if the same DTC is output again.
OK:
No DTCs are output.
NG -- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NETWORK GATEWAY ECU POWER SOURCE)
OK -- END
4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NETWORK GATEWAY ECU POWER SOURCE)
(a) Disconnect the J76 network gateway ECU connector.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:
(c) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Voltage:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
(a) Disconnect the J76 network gateway ECU connector.
(b) Disconnect the J102 display and navigation module display connector.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
6. REPLACE NETWORK GATEWAY ECU
(a) Replace the network gateway ECU Removal.
(b) Clear the DTCs Navigation System (for HDD).
(c) Recheck for DTCs and check if the same DTC is output again.
OK:
No DTCs are output.
NG -- REPLACE DISPLAY AND NAVIGATION MODULE DISPLAY Removal
OK -- END
