Removal





SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEMS: REAR SEAT SIDE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY: REMOVAL

HINT
* Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.
* The procedure listed below is for the LH side.

1. PRECAUTION

CAUTION:
Be sure to read Precaution thoroughly before servicing Service Precautions.

NOTICE:
w/ Navigation System for HDD:

After the power switch is turned off, the display and navigation module display (HDD navigation system) records various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the power switch off, make sure to wait at least 60 seconds before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

2. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT FLOOR MAT Removal

3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

(a) Open the front luggage compartment trim cover and disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.





CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

4. REMOVE REAR SEAT ASSEMBLY

5. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE Removal

6. REMOVE REAR SEAT SIDE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

CAUTION:
When storing the rear seat side airbag assembly, keep the airbag deployment side facing upward.

(a) Check that the power switch is off.

(b) Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal.

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

(c) Disconnect the airbag connector from the rear seat side airbag assembly.





NOTICE:
When disconnecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

(1) Slide the slider to release the lock, and then disconnect the yellow airbag connector.

(d) Remove the 2 bolts.

(e) Disengage the 5 claws, guide and 2 hooks to remove the rear seat side airbag assembly.
