Reassembly

EXTERIOR PANELS / TRIM: REAR BUMPER: REASSEMBLY

1. INSTALL REAR BUMPER REINFORCEMENT SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Install the rear bumper reinforcement sub-assembly with the 4 nuts.





Torque : 29 Nm (296 kgf-cm, 21 ft-lbf)

2. INSTALL REAR BUMPER ENERGY ABSORBER

(a) Engage the 2 guides to install the rear bumper energy absorber.





3. INSTALL REAR BUMPER UPPER RETAINER LH

(a) Engage the 2 claws.





(b) Install the rear bumper upper retainer LH with the screw.

4. INSTALL REAR BUMPER UPPER RETAINER RH

HINT
Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

5. INSTALL REAR BUMPER SIDE RETAINER LH

(a) Engage the 5 claws.





(b) Install the rear bumper side retainer LH with the 3 screws.

6. INSTALL REAR BUMPER SIDE RETAINER RH

HINT
Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

7. INSTALL LUGGAGE ROOM NO. 3 WIRE (w/ Intuitive Parking Assist System)

(a) Engage the clamp and install the luggage room No. 3 wire.





8. INSTALL REFLEX REFLECTOR ASSEMBLY LH

(a) Engage the guide.





(b) Install the reflex reflector assembly LH with the screw.

9. INSTALL REFLEX REFLECTOR ASSEMBLY RH

(a) Engage the guide and install the reflex reflector assembly RH.





10. INSTALL REAR BUMPER SIDE EXTENSION RH

(a) Engage the 2 claws.





(b) Install the rear bumper side extension RH with the screw.

11. INSTALL REAR LOWER SPOILER SUB-ASSEMBLY

HINT
When installing a new rear lower spoiler sub-assembly, heat the rear bumper using a heat light.

Heating Temperature





NOTICE:
Do not heat the rear bumper excessively.

(a) Clean the rear bumper surface.

(1) Using a heat light, heat the rear bumper surface.

(2) Remove the double-sided tape from the rear bumper.

(3) Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.

(b) Install the rear lower spoiler sub-assembly.

(1) Using a heat light, heat the rear bumper and rear lower spoiler sub-assembly.

(2) Remove the release paper from the rear lower spoiler sub-assembly.

HINT
After removing the release paper, keep the exposed adhesive free from foreign matter.

(3) Install a new rear lower spoiler sub-assembly.

(4) Install the 14 rear spoiler retainers.





12. INSTALL REAR BUMPER EXTENSION LH

(a) Engage the 2 claws and install the rear bumper extension LH.





13. INSTALL REAR BUMPER EXTENSION RH

HINT
Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

14. INSTALL REAR SPOILER COVER LH

HINT
When installing a new rear spoiler cover LH, heat the vehicle rear bumper using a heat light.

Heating Temperature





NOTICE:
Do not heat the rear bumper and rear spoiler cover LH excessively.

(a) Clean the rear bumper surface.

(1) Using a heat light, heat the rear bumper surface.

(2) Remove the double-sided tape from the rear bumper.

(3) Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.

(b) Install the rear spoiler cover LH.

(1) Using a heat light, heat the rear bumper and rear spoiler cover LH.

(2) Remove the release paper from the rear spoiler cover LH.

HINT
After removing the release paper, keep the exposed adhesive free from foreign matter.

(3) Install a new rear spoiler cover LH.

(4) Install the 9 rear spoiler retainers.





15. INSTALL REAR SPOILER COVER RH

Use the same procedure as for the LH side.
