DESCRIPTION
The clearance warning buzzer sounds using by pulse signals sent from the clearance warning ECU assembly. The buzzer sounds to alert the driver and the buzzer frequency changes depending on the distance to an obstacle.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
PROCEDURE
1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM
(a) Connect Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the engine switch on (IG).
(c) Turn the Techstream main switch on.
(d) Turn the clearance sonar main switch on.
(e) Select the Active Test, use Techstream to generate a control command, and then check that the buzzer operates.
Clearance warning ECU:
OK:
Clearance warning buzzer sounds.
OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
NG -- Continue to next step.
2. INSPECT CLEARANCE WARNING BUZZER
(a) Remove the clearance warning buzzer Removal.
(b) Apply battery voltage and check operation of the warning buzzer, as shown in the table below.
OK:
HINT
The clearance warning buzzer does not sound when battery voltage is not applied because the buzzer is a separately-excited type.
NG -- REPLACE CLEARANCE WARNING BUZZER Removal
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CLEARANCE WARNING BUZZER - BATTERY)
(a) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard voltage:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CLEARANCE WARNING ECU - CLEARANCE WARNING BUZZER)
(a) Disconnect the M2 ECU connector.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
