B2059 - Vehicle Speed Malfunction
DESCRIPTION
The distance control ECU and the skid control ECU use CAN communication to send vehicle speed information to the seat belt control ECU. The distance control ECU receives vehicle speed information from the skid control ECU via the combination meter and ECM. This DTC is output when the difference between the vehicle speed information from the distance control ECU and the skid control ECU is more than the specified value.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
NOTICE:
* When the seat belt control ECU is replaced with a new one, Initialization must be performed Pre-Collision System.
* When the distance control ECU is replaced with a new one, initialization must be performed Installation.
PROCEDURE
1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM)
(a) Using the Techstream, enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Pre-Collision / Trouble Codes.
(b) Clear the DTCs Pre-Collision System.
(c) Recheck for DTCs.
OK:
CAN communication system DTC is not output.
NG -- GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM How to Proceed With Troubleshooting
OK -- Continue to next step.
2. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (SFI SYSTEM)
(a) Check DTC for SFI system Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes for 2GR-FSE, Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes for 4GR-FSE).
OK:
SFI system DTC is not output.

C -- GO TO SFI SYSTEM (for 4GR-FSE) SFI System
B -- GO TO SFI SYSTEM (for 2GR-FSE) SFI System
A -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM)
(a) Turn the engine switch off.
(b) Start the engine.
(c) Drive the vehicle at a speed of 30 km/h (18 mph) or more for at least 60 seconds.
(d) Check DTC for vehicle stability control system Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
OK:
Vehicle stability control system DTC is not output.
NG -- GO TO VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM Vehicle Stability Control System
OK -- Continue to next step.
4. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM
(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the engine switch on (IG).
(c) Turn the Techstream on.
(d) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Data List.
(e) Check the Data List for proper functioning of the vehicle speed meter.
Combination Meter:
OK:
Vehicle speed displayed on the Techstream is almost the same as the actual vehicle speed.
NG -- GO TO METER / GAUGE SYSTEM How To Proceed With Troubleshooting
OK -- Continue to next step.
5. REPLACE DISTANCE CONTROL ECU
(a) Replace the distance control ECU Removal.
(b) Initialize the distance control ECU Installation.
NEXT -- Continue to next step.
6. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (PRE-COLLISION SYSTEM)
(a) Using the Techstream, enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Pre-Collision / Trouble Codes.
(b) Clear the DTCs Pre-Collision System.
(c) Drive the vehicle.
(d) Recheck for DTCs.
OK:
DTC B2059 is not output.
NG -- REPLACE SEAT BELT CONTROL ECU Removal
OK -- END
