B1625/22 - Front Passenger Side - Side Airbag Sensor Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

The front passenger side - side collision sensor circuit (to determine deployment of the front seat side airbag assembly RH and curtain shield airbag assembly RH) is composed of the center airbag sensor assembly, side airbag sensor RH (for rear side) and side airbag sensor RH (for front side).

The side airbag sensor RH (for rear side) detect impacts to the vehicle and send signals to the center airbag sensor assembly to determine if the airbag should be deployed.

DTC B1625/22 stored when a malfunction is detected in the side airbag sensor RH (for rear side).

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK SIDE AIRBAG SENSOR RH (FOR REAR SIDE)

(a) Turn the engine switch off.





(b) Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

(c) Interchange the side airbag sensor LH (for rear side) with side airbag sensor RH (for rear side) and connect the connectors to them.

(d) Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.

(e) Turn the engine switch on (IG), and wait for at least 60 seconds.

(f) Clear the DTCs stored in the memory Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

(g) Turn the engine switch off.

(h) Turn the engine switch on (IG), and wait for at least 60 seconds.

(i) Check for DTCs Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
