B15C3 - Speaker Output Short
DESCRIPTION
This DTC is stored when a malfunction occurs in the speakers.

WIRING DIAGRAM
INSPECTION PROCEDURE
PROCEDURE
1. INSPECT STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY
(a) Disconnect stereo component amplifier connectors P44 and P28.
(b) Clear the DTCs and recheck for DTCs.
(c) Check if DTC B15C3 is output.
OK:
DTC B15C3 is not output.
NG -- REPLACE STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY Removal
OK -- Continue to next step.
2. CHECK OPERATION
(a) Reconnect stereo component amplifier connector P28.
(b) Check if DTC B15C3 is output.
OK:
DTC B15C3 is not output.
NG -- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
(a) Disconnect P44 stereo component amplifier assembly connector.
(b) Disconnect J114 DCM (telematics transceiver) connector. (w/ Manual (SOS) Switch)
(c) Disconnect L1, M13, N4, N6, O4, O6, N3 and O3 speaker connectors.
(d) Measure the resistance between the stereo component amplifier assembly and body ground to check for a short circuit in the wire harness.
Standard Resistance:
(e) w/ Manual (SOS) Switch:
Measure the resistance between the front No. 1 speaker RH and body ground to check for a short circuit in the wire harness.
Standard Resistance:
(f) Measure the resistance between each of the rear No. 2 speakers and body ground to check for a short circuit in the wire harness.
Standard Resistance:
(g) Measure the resistance between the front No. 1 speaker LH and the stereo component amplifier assembly to check for an open circuit in the wire harness.
Standard Resistance:
(h) w/o Manual (SOS) Switch:
Measure the resistance between the front No. 1 speaker RH and the stereo component amplifier assembly to check for an open circuit in the wire harness.
Standard Resistance:
(i) w/ Manual (SOS) Switch:
Measure the resistance between the stereo component amplifier assembly and the DCM (telematics transceiver) to check for an open circuit in the wire harness.
Standard Resistance:
(j) w/ Manual (SOS) Switch:
Measure the resistance between the front No. 1 speaker RH and the DCM (telematics transceiver) to check for an open circuit in the wire harness.
Standard Resistance:
(k) Measure the resistance between each of the rear speakers and the stereo component amplifier assembly to check for an open circuit in the wire harness.
Standard Resistance:
(l) Measure the resistance between each of the rear No. 3 speakers and the stereo component amplifier assembly to check for an open circuit in the wire harness.
Standard Resistance:
(m) Measure the resistance between each of the rear No. 2 speakers and the rear No. 3 speakers to check for an open circuit in the wire harness.
Standard Resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
4. INSPECT FRONT NO. 1 SPEAKER
(a) Resistance check
(1) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:

NG -- REPLACE FRONT NO. 1 SPEAKER Removal
OK -- Continue to next step.
5. INSPECT REAR SPEAKER
(a) Resistance check
(1) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:

NG -- REPLACE REAR SPEAKER Removal
OK -- Continue to next step.
6. INSPECT REAR NO. 2 SPEAKER
(a) Resistance check
(1) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:

OK -- Continue to next step.
7. INSPECT REAR NO. 3 SPEAKER
(a) Resistance check
(1) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

(b) Proceed to the next step based on the inspection result.
Result:
C -- REPLACE REAR NO. 3 SPEAKER Removal
B -- REPLACE STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY Removal

8. INSPECT DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER)
(a) Resistance check
(1) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:

NG -- REPLACE DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER) Removal
OK -- REPLACE STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY Removal
9. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
(a) Disconnect P28 stereo component amplifier assembly connector.
(b) Disconnect M12, M4, L5, L2 and P21 speaker connectors.
(c) Measure the resistance between each of the stereo component amplifier assembly and body ground to check for a short circuit in the wire harness.
Standard Resistance:
(d) Measure the resistance between each of the front No. 2 speakers and body ground to check for a short circuit in the wire harness.
Standard Resistance:
(e) Measure the resistance between each of the front No. 3 speakers and the stereo component amplifier assembly to check for an open circuit in the wire harness.
Standard Resistance:
(f) Measure the resistance between each of the front No. 2 speakers and the front No. 3 speakers to check for an open circuit in the wire harness.
Standard Resistance:
(g) Measure the resistance between the stereo component speaker and the stereo component amplifier assembly to check for an open circuit in the wire harness.
Standard Resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
10. INSPECT FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER
(a) Resistance check
(1) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

11. INSPECT FRONT NO. 3 SPEAKER
