FRONT SUSPENSION: FRONT LOWER BALL JOINT: INSTALLATION

HINT
* Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.
* The procedure listed below is for the LH side.

1. INSTALL FRONT LOWER BALL JOINT ASSEMBLY

(a) Secure the front axle assembly between aluminum plates in a vise.

NOTICE:
When using a vise, do not overtighten it.

(b) Install the front lower ball joint assembly to the steering knuckle with a nut (Type A or Type B).





Torque : 133 Nm (1356 kgf-cm, 98 ft-lbf)

NOTICE:
Prevent oil from adhering to the threads and tapered parts.

(c) When installing the nut (Type A):

(1) Install a new clip to the nut.

NOTICE:
Further tighten the nut up to 60° if the holes for the clip are not aligned.

(d) When installing the nut (Type B):

(1) Install a new cotter pin to the nut.

NOTICE:
Further tighten the nut up to 60° if the holes for the cotter pin are not aligned.

2. INSTALL FRONT AXLE ASSEMBLY
