SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEMS: REAR SEAT SIDE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY: INSTALLATION

HINT
* Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.
* The procedure listed below is for the LH side.

1. INSTALL REAR SEAT SIDE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

(a) Check that the power switch is off.

(b) Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal.

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

(c) Temporarily install the rear seat side airbag assembly with the 5 claws, guide and 2 hooks.

NOTICE:
Make sure that the 2 hooks are securely inserted into the body hole.

(d) Install the rear seat side airbag assembly with the 2 bolts.

Torque : 9.8 Nm (100 kgf-cm, 87 in-lbf)

(e) Connect the rear seat side airbag assembly connector.

NOTICE:
When connecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

4. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

(a) Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal and close the front luggage compartment trim cover.

5. INSTALL LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT FLOOR MAT Installation

6. PERFORM DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK

(a) Perform a diagnostic system check Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

7. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT

(a) Inspect the SRS warning light Diagnosis System.
