SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM: DRIVER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY: REMOVAL

1. PRECAUTION

CAUTION:
Be sure to read Precaution thoroughly before servicing Service Precautions.

2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

NOTICE:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

3. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH Removal

4. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM COVER LH Removal

5. REMOVE FRONT CONSOLE UPPER PANEL GARNISH Removal

6. REMOVE CONSOLE UPPER PANEL ASSEMBLY Removal

7. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL END LH Removal

8. REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL LH Removal

9. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

10. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

11. REMOVE DRIVER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the 4 bolts and driver side knee airbag assembly.





(b) Disconnect the connector.

NOTICE:
When handling the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
