POWER STEERING: POWER STEERING SYSTEM: C1552, C1554: PIG Power Supply Voltage Malfunction


DESCRIPTION

This circuit supplies power to drive the power steering motor.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. INSPECT FUSES (ECU-B, EPS FUSE)

(a) Check for continuity of the ECU-B and EPS fuses.

OK:

Continuity

NG -- REPLACE FUSE
OK -- Continue to next step.

2. INSPECT ELECTRIC POWER STEERING RELAY

(a) Remove the EPS relay from the engine room R/B No.1.





(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Resistance:





NG -- REPLACE ELECTRIC POWER STEERING RELAY
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (EPS RELAY - BATTERY)

(a) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.





Voltage:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (EPS RELAY - POWER STEERING ECU ASSEMBLY)

(a) Disconnect the A23 connector from the power steering ECU assembly.





(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Resistance:





NOTICE:
If replacing the power steering ECU assembly, initialize the rotation angle sensor and calibrate the torque sensor zero point Power Steering System.

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

OK -- REPLACE POWER STEERING ECU ASSEMBLY
