DIFFERENTIAL: DIFFERENTIAL SIDE GEAR SHAFT OIL SEAL: REPLACEMENT

1. REMOVE REAR TIRE

2. DRAIN DIFFERENTIAL OIL

(a) Using a hexagon wrench (10mm), remove the filler plug and gasket.

(b) Using a hexagon wrench (10mm), remove the drain plug and gasket, and drain the oil.

(c) Install the differential drain plug and a new gasket.

Torque : 49 Nm (500 kgf-cm, 36 ft-lbf)

3. REMOVE REAR DRIVE SHAFT

Removal

4. REMOVE REAR DIFFERENTIAL SIDE GEAR SHAFT OIL SEAL

(a) Using SST, remove the oil seal.





SST : 09308-10010

5. INSTALL REAR DIFFERENTIAL SIDE GEAR SHAFT OIL SEAL

(a) Using SST and hammer, install a new oil seal.





SST : 09950-70010

SST : 09223-15030

Oil seal drive in depth:

-0.5 to 0.5 mm (-0.020 to 0.020 in.)

(b) Apply MP grease to the oil seal lip.

6. INSTALL REAR DRIVE SHAFT

7. ADD DIFFERENTIAL OIL Adjustments

8. INSPECT DIFFERENTIAL OIL Adjustments

9. INSTALL REAR TIRE

Torque : 103 Nm (1050 kgf-cm, 76 ft-lbf)

10. INSPECT AND ADJUST REAR WHEEL ALIGNMENT

Rear Wheel Alignment

11. CHECK ABS SPEED SENSOR SIGNAL

(w/ Electronically Controlled Brake system: Test Mode Procedure)
