How to Proceed With Troubleshooting





POWER ASSIST SYSTEMS: POWER STEERING SYSTEM: HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING

1. VEHICLE BROUGHT TO WORKSHOP

2. INSPECT AUXILIARY BATTERY VOLTAGE

Standard Voltage:

11 to 14 V

If the voltage is below 11 V, recharge or replace the auxiliary battery before proceeding to the next step.

3. CHECK DTC AND FREEZE FRAME DATA*

6. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM*

(a) Check for DTCs Diagnosis System.

* If any CAN communication system DTCs are output, perform troubleshooting on the CAN communication system first.
* If communication to the power steering ECU assembly cannot be established through the Techstream, inspect terminals CANH and CANL of the DLC3 and the power steering ECU assembly, and the IG circuit of the power steering ECU assembly.

(a) Check for DTCs Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
