How To Proceed With Troubleshooting





SLIDING ROOF / CONVERTIBLE: SLIDING ROOF SYSTEM: HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING

1. VEHICLE BROUGHT TO WORKSHOP

2. CUSTOMER PROBLEM ANALYSIS

HINT
* In troubleshooting, confirm that the problem symptoms have been accurately identified. Preconceptions should be discarded in order to make an accurate judgment. To clearly understand what the problem symptoms are, it is extremely important to ask the customer about the problem and the conditions at the time the malfunction occurred.
* Gather as much information as possible for reference. Past problems that seem unrelated may also help in some cases.
* The following 5 items are important points in problem analysis:

3. INSPECT AUXILIARY BATTERY VOLTAGE

(a) Measure the auxiliary battery voltage with the power switch off.

Standard Voltage:

11 to 14 V

If the voltage is below 11 V, recharge or replace the auxiliary battery before proceeding to the next step.

4. INSPECT COMMUNICATION FUNCTION OF CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM*

(a) Using the Techstream, check if the CAN Communication System is functioning normally Diagnosis System.

5. INSPECT COMMUNICATION FUNCTION OF LIN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM*

(a) Using the Techstream, check if the LIN Communication System is functioning normally Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

8. ADJUST, REPAIR OR REPLACE

(a) Check if the sliding roof drive gear assembly has been replaced, or the sliding roof glass or sliding roof housing has been adjusted, or removed and installed.

9. INITIALIZE SLIDING ROOF ECU (SLIDING ROOF DRIVE GEAR ASSEMBLY)

(a) Initialize the sliding roof ECU (sliding roof drive gear assembly) Programming and Relearning.

If initialization has not been performed, the auto operation, jam protection function and key-off operation will not operate or will operate incorrectly.
