The driving support ECU receives a pre-collision brake on/off signal from the pre-collision brake off switch assembly.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (PRE-COLLISION BRAKE OFF SWITCH ASSEMBLY)

(a) Use the Data List to check if the pre-collision brake off switch assembly is functioning properly.

OK:

On screen, each item changes between ON and OFF according to above chart.

NG -- INSPECT PRE-COLLISION BRAKE OFF SWITCH ASSEMBLY

OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE Pre-Collision System

2. INSPECT PRE-COLLISION BRAKE OFF SWITCH ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the pre-collision brake off switch assembly Removal.





(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

(c) Reinstall the pre-collision brake off switch assembly Installation.

NG -- REPLACE PRE-COLLISION BRAKE OFF SWITCH ASSEMBLY Removal
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (PRE-COLLISION BRAKE OFF SWITCH - DRIVING SUPPORT ECU, BODY GROUND)

(a) Disconnect the pre-collision brake off switch assembly connector.

(b) Disconnect the driving support ECU connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





(d) Reconnect the driving support ECU connector.

(e) Reconnect the pre-collision brake off switch assembly connector.

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (PRE-COLLISION BRAKE OFF SWITCH - DRIVING SUPPORT ECU)
OK -- Continue to next step.

4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (PRE-COLLISION BRAKE OFF SWITCH ASSEMBLY - BODY GROUND)

(a) Disconnect the pre-collision brake off switch assembly connector.

(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





(c) Reconnect the pre-collision brake off switch assembly connector.

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (PRE-COLLISION BRAKE OFF SWITCH ASSEMBLY - BODY GROUND)

OK -- REPLACE DRIVING SUPPORT ECU Removal
