INSEPCTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (WIPER MOTOR)

(a) Select the Active Test, use the intelligent tester or Techstream to generate a control command, and then check the door lock motor function.

Passenger side junction block ECU

OK:

Wiper motor operates on HI or LO mode depending on command.

OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
NG -- Continue to next step.

2. INSPECT WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR ASSEMBLY

(a) Check operation.

(1) Remove the windshield wiper motor.

(2) Apply battery voltage to the wiper motor connector and check the operation of the wiper motor.

OK:

(b) Check automatic stop operation.

(1) Connect the battery's positive (+) lead to terminal 5 (+1) and the negative (-) lead to terminal 4 (E), operate the motor at low speed and stop the motor operation anywhere except at the stop position by disconnecting the positive (+) lead.

(2) Using a service wire, connect terminals 5 (+1) and 1 (S).

(3) Connect the battery's positive (+) lead to terminal 2 (B). Check that the motor operates again and stops at the stop position.

NG -- REPLACE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR ASSEMBLY
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (PASSENGER SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK ECU - MOTOR)

(a) Disconnect the 3D junction block connector.

(b) Disconnect the F9 motor connector.

(c) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

Standard resistance:

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

4. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (MOTOR - PASSENGER SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK ECU AND BODY GROUND)

(a) Disconnect the F9 motor connector.

(b) Disconnect the P6 ECU connector.

(c) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

Standard resistance:

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR

OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
