Installation





STEERING COLUMN: STEERING COLUMN ASSEMBLY: INSTALLATION

HINT
A bolt without a torque specification is shown in the standard bolt chart Specified Torque For Standard Bolts.

1. INSTALL STEERING SLIDING YOKE SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Temporarily install the steering sliding yoke with the bolt.

2. INSTALL STEERING COLUMN ASSEMBLY

(a) Install the steering column with the 2 column set bolts and 2 column set nuts.

Torque : 25 Nm (260 kgf-cm, 19 ft-lbf)

(b) Install the bolt to tighten the hole cover clamp.





(c) Install the brake pedal return spring.

(d) Connect the connectors.

3. INSTALL STEERING SLIDING YOKE SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Align the matchmarks on the steering sliding yoke and control valve shaft.





(b) Install the bolt labeled B and tighten the bolt labeled A.

Torque : 35 Nm (360 kgf-cm, 26 ft-lbf)

4. INSTALL NO. 4 HEATER TO REGISTER DUCT

(a) Install the 3 clips to install the duct.

5. INSTALL NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY LOWER Installation

6. INSTALL NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY Installation

7. INSTALL SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY Installation

8. INSTALL TURN SIGNAL SWITCH ASSEMBLY

(a) Install the turn signal switch with spiral cable with the 3 screws.

(b) Connect the airbag connector.

(c) Connect the 4 connectors.

9. INSTALL STEERING COLUMN COVER UPPER

10. INSTALL STEERING COLUMN COVER LOWER

(a) Install the steering column cover lower with the 3 screws.

11. INSTALL INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY Installation

12. CENTER SPIRAL CABLE Installation

13. INSTALL STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY

(a) Align the matchmarks on the steering wheel and main shaft.

(b) Install the wheel set nut.

Torque : 35 Nm (357 kgf-cm, 26 ft-lbf)

(c) Connect the connector.

14. INSTALL STEERING PAD ASSEMBLY

NOTICE:
* Never use airbag parts removed from another vehicle. When replacing parts, replace with new ones.
* Make sure the wheel pad is installed with the specified torque.
* If the steering pad is dropped or there are cracks, dents or other defects on the case or connector, replace the wheel pad with a new one.
* When installing the steering pad, make sure that the wiring does not interfere with other parts and that they are not pinched between other parts.
(a) Connect the terminal.

(b) Connect the connectors to the steering pad.

(c) Install the steering wheel pad after confirming that the circumference groove of the "TORX" screws is caught on the screw case.





(d) Use a T30 "TORX" socket wrench, tighten the 2 "TORX" screws.

Torque : 8.8 Nm (90 kgf-cm, 78 in-lbf)

15. INSTALL NO. 2 STEERING WHEEL COVER LOWER

16. INSTALL STEERING PAD SWITCH MODULATOR





(a) Connect the connector.

(b) Install the steering pad switch modulator with the 2 screws.

17. INSTALL SWITCH AND VOLUME CASE





(a) Attach the 3 claws to install the switch and volume case.

18. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

19. INSPECT STEERING WHEEL CENTER POINT

20. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT

(a) Inspect the SRS warning light Diagnosis System.

21. PERFORM INITIALIZATION

(a) Perform initialization Testing and Inspection.

NOTICE:
Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
