3UZ-FE ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEM: ECM: REMOVAL

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

2. REMOVE ECM BOX COVER





(a) Remove the 3 bolts and ECM box cover.

NOTICE:
* Make sure there is no water and / or foreign matter around the ECM box cover.
* Perform the inspection indoors to avoid rain.
* Prevent water from contacting the ECM's connectors and screw areas.
3. REMOVE ECM





(a) Disconnect the 5 ECM connectors.

(b) Remove the 2 nuts and ECM from the ECM box.
