DESCRIPTION

After receiving the signal of the turn signal switch from the driver side junction block ECU, the driver side junction block ECU makes the turn signal light illuminate.

The driver side junction block ECU activates the flasher relay while the theft deterrent system gives the warning and illuminates the turn signal light and hazard warning light.

INSEPCTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (TURN SIGNAL LIGHT)

(a) Select the ACTIVE TEST, use the Techstream to generate a control command, and then check that the turn signal light illuminates.

2. INSPECT FRONT TURN SIGNAL LIGHT ASSEMBLY





(a) Remove the front turn signal light.

(b) Apply battery voltage to the front turn signal light connector and check that the front turn signal light illuminates.

OK:





NG -- REPLACE FRONT TURN SIGNAL LIGHT ASSEMBLY
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. INSPECT OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY





(a) Remove the outer rear view mirror.

(b) Apply battery voltage to the outer rear view mirror connector and check that the side turn signal light illuminates.

OK:





NG -- INSPECT SIDE TURN SIGNAL LIGHT ASSEMBLY
OK -- Continue to next step.

4. INSPECT REAR COMBINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY (TURN SIGNAL LIGHT)





(a) Remove the rear combination light.

(b) Apply battery voltage to the front turn signal light connector and check that the turn signal light illuminates.

OK:





NG -- REPLACE REAR COMBINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY
OK -- Continue to next step.

5. INSPECT TURN SIGNAL FLASHER ASSEMBLY





(a) Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 2 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 3.

(b) Connect the 2 turn signal light bulbs parallel to each other to terminals 1 and 2, and check that the bulbs flash.

OK:

Bulbs flash.

HINT
* The turn signal lights should flash 60 to 120 times per minute.
* If one of the front or rear turn signal lights has an open circuit, the number of flashes will be more than 140 per minute.

6. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (FLASHER - ECU AND BODY GROUND)





(a) Disconnect the T15 flasher connector.

(b) Disconnect the 2E junction block connector.

(c) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

7. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (LIGHT - ECU AND BODY GROUND)





(a) Disconnect the F7*1 or F8*2 light connector.

(b) Disconnect the 2D junction block connector.

(c) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

Standard resistance:

8. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (MIRROR - ECU AND BODY GROUND)





(a) Disconnect the R14*1 or R15*2 mirror connector.

(c) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

(a) Disconnect the R6*1 or R7*2 light connector.

10. INSPECT SIDE TURN SIGNAL LIGHT ASSEMBLY





(a) Remove the side turn signal light.

(b) Apply battery voltage to the side turn signal light connector and check that the side turn signal light illuminates.
