DESCRIPTION

When the combination light switch signal is sends from the front light ECU, the driver side junction block ECU turns on switch illumination and combination meter illumination.

INSEPCTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM

(a) Select the ACTIVE TEST, use the Techstream to generate a control command, and then check that each light illuminates.

Illumination entry turns on.

OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
NG -- Continue to next step.

2. CHECK CIGARETTE LIGHTER ASSEMBLY

(a) Check that the cigarette lighter illumination turns on.

OK:

Illumination turns on.

NG -- INSPECT CIGARETTE LIGHTER ASSEMBLY
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. CHECK OUTER MIRROR SWITCH ASSEMBLY

(a) Check that the outer mirror switch illumination turns on.

OK:

Illumination turns on.

NG -- INSPECT OUTER MIRROR SWITCH ASSEMBLY
OK -- Continue to next step.

4. CHECK PATTERN SELECT SWITCH ASSEMBLY

(a) Check that the pattern select switch illumination turns on.

OK:

Illumination turns on.

OK -- Continue to next step.

5. CHECK RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY

(a) Check that the radio receiver illumination turns on.

OK:

Illumination turns on.

6. CHECK GLOVE BOX LIGHT ASSEMBLY

(a) Check that the glove box light turns on.

OK:

Illumination turns on.

7. CHECK VSC OFF SWITCH

(a) Check that the VSC OFF switch illumination turns on.

OK:

Illumination turns on.

OK -- Continue to next step.

8. CHECK A/C CONTROL ASSEMBLY

(a) Check that the A/C control illumination turns on.

OK:

Illumination turns on.

NG -- INSPECT A/C CONTROL ASSEMBLY

9. CHECK SHIFT POSITION INDICATOR

(a) Check that the shift position indicator illumination turns on.

OK:

Illumination turns on.

10. CHECK AUDIO DOOR CONTROL SWITCH

(a) Check that the audio door control switch illumination turns on.

OK:

Illumination turns on.

11. CHECK SEAT HEATER SWITCH

(a) Check that the seat heater switch illumination turns on.

OK:

Illumination turns on.

12. CHECK MULTI-DISPLAY

(a) Check that the multi-display illumination turns on.

OK:

Illumination turns on.

NG -- Continue to next step.

13. INSPECT MULTI-DISPLAY





(a) Remove the multi-display.

(b) Apply battery voltage to the multi-display connector and check that the multi-display illuminates.

OK:





NG -- REPLACE MULTI-DISPLAY JUNCTION BLOCK
OK -- Continue to next step.

14. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (MULTI-DISPLAY - ECU AND BODY GROUND)





(a) Disconnect the M5 multi-display connector.

(b) Disconnect the 2F junction block connector.

(c) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR

OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE

15. INSPECT CIGARETTE LIGHTER ASSEMBLY





(a) Remove the cigarette lighter.

(b) Apply battery voltage to the multi-display connector and check that the cigarette lighter illuminates.

OK:





NG -- REPLACE CIGARETTE LIGHTER ASSEMBLY
OK -- Continue to next step.

16. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (LIGHTER - ECU)





(a) Disconnect the C7 lighter connector.

(b) Disconnect the 2F junction block connector.

(c) Disconnect the D5 ECU connector.

(d) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR

OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE

17. INSPECT OUTER MIRROR SWITCH ASSEMBLY





(a) Remove the outer mirror switch.

(b) Apply battery voltage to the outer mirror switch connector and check that the outer mirror switch illuminates.

OK:





NG -- REPLACE OUTER MIRROR SWITCH ASSEMBLY
OK -- Continue to next step.

18. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (SWITCH - ECU)





(a) Disconnect the R4 switch connector.

(b) Disconnect the 2E junction block connector.

(c) Disconnect the D5 ECU connector.

(d) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR

OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE

19. INSPECT PATTERN SELECT SWITCH ASSEMBLY





(a) Remove the pattern select switch.

(b) Apply battery voltage to the pattern select switch connector and check that the pattern select switch illuminates.

OK:

OK -- Continue to next step.

20. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (SWITCH - ECU)





(a) Disconnect the E11 switch connector.

(b) Disconnect the 2E junction block connector.

(c) Disconnect the D5 ECU connector.

(d) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

Standard resistance:

21. INSPECT RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY





(a) Remove the radio receiver.

(b) Apply battery voltage to the radio receiver connector and check that the radio receiver illuminates.

OK:





NG -- REPLACE RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY
OK -- Continue to next step.

22. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (RECEIVER - ECU)





(a) Disconnect the R3 receiver connector.

(b) Disconnect the 2E junction block connector.

(c) Disconnect the D5 ECU connector.

(d) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR

OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE

23. INSPECT GLOVE BOX LIGHT ASSEMBLY





(a) Remove the glove box light.

(b) Apply battery voltage to the glove box light connector and check that the glove box light illuminates.

OK:





NG -- REPLACE GLOVE BOX LIGHT ASSEMBLY
OK -- Continue to next step.

24. INSPECT GLOVE BOX LIGHT SWITCH





(a) Remove the glove box light switch.

(b) Measure the resistance of the switch.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPLACE GLOVE BOX LIGHT SWITCH
OK -- Continue to next step.

25. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (GLOVE BOX LIGHT - ECU)





(a) Disconnect the G4 light connector.

(b) Disconnect the G5 switch connector.

(c) Disconnect the 2F junction block connector.

(d) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

26. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (GLOVE SWITCH - BOX LIGHT AND BODY GROUND)





(a) Disconnect the G4 light connector.

(b) Disconnect the G5 switch connector.

(c) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR

OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE

27. INSPECT VSC OFF SWITCH ASSEMBLY





(a) Remove the VSC OFF switch.

(b) Apply battery voltage to the VSC OFF switch connector and check that the VSC off switch illuminates.

OK:





NG -- REPLACE VSC OFF SWITCH
OK -- Continue to next step.

28. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (VSC OFF SWITCH - ECU)





(a) Disconnect the V7 switch connector.

(b) Disconnect the 2F junction block connector.

(c) Disconnect the D5 ECU connector.

(d) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR

OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE

29. INSPECT A/C CONTROL ASSEMBLY





(a) Remove the A/C control.

(b) Apply battery voltage to the A/C control connector and check that the A/C control illuminates.

OK:

30. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (A/C CONTROL - ECU)





(a) Disconnect the A9 and A10 A/C control connector.

(b) Disconnect the 2F junction block connector.

(c) Disconnect the D5 ECU connector.

(d) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR

OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE

31. INSPECT SHIFT POSITION INDICATOR





(a) Remove the shift position indicator.

(b) Apply battery voltage to the shift position indicator connector and check that the shift position indicator illuminates.

OK:





NG -- REPLACE SHIFT POSITION INDICATOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

32. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (SHIFT POSITION INDICATOR - ECU)





(a) Disconnect the A13 shift position indicator connector.

(b) Disconnect the 2F junction block connector.

(c) Disconnect the D5 ECU connector.

(d) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR

OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE

33. INSPECT AUDIO DOOR CONTROL SWITCH





(a) Remove the audio door control switch.

(b) Apply battery voltage to the audio door control switch connector and check that the audio door control switch illuminates.

OK:

OK -- Continue to next step.

34. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (AUDIO DOOR CONTROL SWITCH - ECU)





(a) Disconnect the A25 switch connector.

(b) Disconnect the 2F junction block connector.

(c) Disconnect the D5 ECU connector.

(d) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR

OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE

35. INSPECT SEAT HEATER SWITCH





(a) Remove the seat heater switch.

(b) Apply battery voltage to the seat heater switch connector and check that the seat heater switch illuminates.

OK:





NG -- REPLACE SEAT HEATER SWITCH

36. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (SEAT HEATER SWITCH - ECU AND BODY GROUND)





(a) Disconnect the S3 switch connector.

(b) Disconnect the 2F junction block connector.

(c) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

Standard resistance:
