DESCRIPTION

The driver door ECU and passenger door ECU detect the condition of the door courtesy switch and send a signal to each ECU via the multiplex communication circuit.

INSEPCTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (DOOR COURTESY SWITCH)

(a) Check the DATA LIST for proper functioning of the door courtesy switch.

Driver Door





OK:

ON (door is open) appears on the screen.

Passenger Door





OK:

ON (door is open) appears on the screen.

OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
NG -- Continue to next step.

2. INSPECT FRONT DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY





(a) Remove the courtesy light switch.

(b) Measure the resistance of the switch.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPLACE FRONT DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (ECU - SWITCH)





(a) Check the wire harness between the driver door ECU and door courtesy light switch LH.

(1) Disconnect the D21 ECU connector.

(2) Disconnect the D8 switch connector.

(3) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

Standard resistance:





(b) Check the wire harness between the passenger door ECU and door courtesy light switch RH.





(1) Disconnect the P41 ECU connector.

(2) Disconnect the D9 switch connector.

(3) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR

OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
