DESCRIPTION
The damper servo is controlled by the A/C amplifier, and the A/C amplifier moves the damper servo (lap-jet) to the desired position.

INSEPCTION PROCEDURE
PROCEDURE
1. PERFORM ACTUATOR CHECK (LAP-JET DAMPER POSITION)
(a) Enter actuator check mode Actuator Check.
(b) Press the UP driver temperature switch to change to the step operation.
(c) Press the UP driver temperature switch to check the lap-jet damper servo operation.
OK:
Lap-jet damper position changes in accordance with each display code.
OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
NG -- Continue to next step.
2. INSPECT FUSE (HEATER)
(a) Remove the HEATER fuse from the driver side junction block.
(b) Measure the resistance of the fuse.
Standard resistance:
Below 1 Ohms
NG -- REPLACE FUSE
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. INSPECT DAMPER SERVO SUB-ASSEMBLY (LAP-JET)
(a) Remove the damper servo.
(b) Apply battery voltage to the servo and check that the servo rotates smoothly.
OK:
NG -- REPLACE DAMPER SERVO SUB-ASSEMBLY (LAP-JET)
OK -- Continue to next step.
4. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (DAMPER SERVO - A/C AMPLIFIER AND BATTERY)
(a) Disconnect the A15 servo connector.
(b) Disconnect the A8 amplifier connector.
(c) Measure voltage and resistance of the wire harness connector.
Standard voltage:
Standard resistance
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- REPLACE AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY
