Removal
3UZ-FE LUBRICATION: OIL PUMP: REMOVAL
1. DISCHARGE FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE Removal
2. REMOVE ENGINE WITH TRANSMISSION ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the engine with transmission Removal.
3. REMOVE TIMING BELT
(a) Remove the timing belt Removal.
4. REMOVE CRANKSHAFT TIMING PULLEY Disassembly
5. REMOVE OIL DIPSTICK AND GUIDE
(a) Remove the oil dipstick.
(b) Remove the bolt, oil dipstick guide and O-ring.
6. REMOVE OIL FILTER SUB-ASSEMBLY Replacement
7. REMOVE OIL FILTER BRACKET SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Disconnect the oil pressure switch connector.
(b) Remove the stud bolt, 2 nuts, oil filter bracket and gasket.
8. REMOVE CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR
(a) Disconnect the sensor connector.
(b) Remove the bolt and sensor.
9. REMOVE ENGINE OIL LEVEL SENSOR
(a) Disconnect the sensor connector.
(b) Remove the 4 bolts and sensor and gasket.
10. REMOVE NO. 2 OIL PAN SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the 12 bolts and 2 nuts.
(b) Insert the blade of oil pan seal cutter between the No. 1 and No. 2 oil pans, cut through the sealer and remove the No. 2 oil pan.
NOTICE:
Be careful not to damage the contact surface of the oil pans.
11. REMOVE OIL PAN BAFFLE PLATE NO.1
(a) Remove the 3 bolts, 2 nuts, and baffle plate.
12. REMOVE OIL PAN SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the 17 bolts, 2 nuts and oil pan.
(b) Using a screwdriver, remove the oil pan by prying the areas between the cylinder block and oil pan shown in the illustration.
NOTICE:
Be careful not to damage the contact surfaces of the cylinder block and oil pan.
13. REMOVE OIL STRAINER SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the bolt, 2 nuts, oil strainer and gasket.
14. REMOVE OIL PUMP ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the stud bolt and 7 bolts.
HINT
Use a 6 mm hexagon wrench for the hexagon head bolt.
(b) Use a screwdriver, remove the oil pump by prying the areas between the oil pump and cylinder block shown in the illustration.
(c) Remove the O-ring from the cylinder block.
