Installation





BRAKE: HYDRAULIC BRAKE BOOSTER: INSTALLATION

NOTICE:
As high pressure will be applied to the No. 1 brake actuator tube, make sure that it does not deform.

1. INSTALL BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Install the master cylinder with the 4 nuts.

Torque : 15 Nm (155 kgf-cm, 11 ft-lbf)

(b) Install the brake lines to the vehicle body with the 2 nuts.





Torque : 4.9 Nm (50 kgf-cm, 43 in-lbf)

(c) Using a union nut wrench (10 mm) and a wrench, connect the front brake line LH to the flexible hose.





without union nut wrench - Torque : 15 Nm (155 kgf-cm, 11 ft-lbf)

with union nut wrench - Torque : 14 Nm (143 kgf-cm, 10 ft-lbf)

NOTICE:
* Use a torque wrench with a fulcrum length of 300 mm (11.8 in.).
* This torque value is effective when the union nut wrench is parallel to the torque wrench.
(d) Using a union nut wrench(10 mm), connect each brake line to the correct position of the master cylinder, as shown in the illustration.





without union nut wrench - Torque : 15 Nm (155 kgf-cm, 11 ft-lbf)

with union nut wrench - Torque : 14 Nm (143 kgf-cm, 10 ft-lbf)

NOTICE:
* Use a torque wrench with a fulcrum length of 300 mm (11.8 in.).
* This torque value is effective when the union nut wrench is parallel to the torque wrench.
(e) Connect the 5 connectors and harness clamp to the master cylinder.

3. INSTALL LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIR BAG ASSEMBLY Installation

4. INSTALL NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY Installation

5. INSTALL FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM COVER LH Installation

6. INSTALL DOOR SCUFF PLATE ASSEMBLY LH Installation

7. INSTALL BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER COVER ASSEMBLY

8. INSTALL V-BANK COVER Installation

9. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

10. FILL RESERVOIR WITH BRAKE FLUID Service and Repair

11. BLEED BRAKE BOOSTER W/ACCUMULATOR PUMP ASSEMBLY Service and Repair

12. BLEED AIR FROM BRAKE LINE Service and Repair

13. BLEED AIR FROM HYDRAULIC BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER (When using Techstream) Service and Repair

14. BLEED AIR FROM HYDRAULIC BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER (When using ABS actuator checker (SST)) Service and Repair

15. CHECK AND ADJUST BRAKE PEDAL HEIGHT Adjustments

16. CHECK BRAKE PEDAL FREE PLAY Adjustments

17. CHECK BRAKE PEDAL RESERVE DISTANCE Adjustments

18. CHECK BRAKE FLUID LEVEL IN RESERVOIR Service and Repair

19. CHECK FOR BRAKE FLUID LEAKAGE

20. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL LH

Torque : 103 Nm (1050 kgf-cm, 76 ft-lbf)

21. CHECK HYDRAULIC BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER FLUID PRESSURE CHANGE On-Vehicle Inspection

22. INSPECT BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER OPERATION (When using Techstream) On-Vehicle Inspection

23. INSPECT BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER OPERATION (When using ABS actuator checker) On-Vehicle Inspection

24. PERFORM INITIALIZATION

(a) Perform initialization Testing and Inspection.

NOTICE:
Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

25. CHECK SRS WARNING LIGHT

(a) Check the SRS warning light Diagnosis System.
