DESCRIPTION

When checking for a 2 digit DTC, the ABS warning light remains on.

INSEPCTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. INSPECT SKID CONTROL ECU CONNECTOR CONNECTION

(a) Check that each ECU connector is properly installed.

OK:

Each ECU connector is properly installed.

NG -- CONNECT CONNECTOR TO ECU CORRECTLY
OK -- Continue to next step.

2. INSPECT BATTERY

(a) Check the battery voltage.

Standard voltage:

11 to 14 V

NG -- RECHARGE OR REPLACE BATTERY
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. CHECK FOR DTC

(a) Check for DTC Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

C -- REPAIR CIRCUITS INDICATED BY OUTPUT DTCS

B -- CHECK WIRE HARNESS (SKID CONTROL ECU - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND)
A -- Continue to next step.

4. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (IG VOLTAGE)

(a) Check the Data List for proper functioning of the IG voltage.

5. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (SKID CONTROL ECU - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND)





(a) Disconnect the S5, S7 and S8 ECU connectors.

(b) Turn the ignition switch ON.

(c) Measure the voltage of the wire harness side connectors.

Standard voltage:





(d) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

6. CHECK MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM (SKID CONTROL ECU - COMBINATION METER)

(a) Check for open and short circuits in the multiplex communication system between the skid control ECU and combination meter Multiplex Communication System.

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

7. CHECK COMBINATION METER (ABS WARNING LIGHT)

(a) Check the combination meter Problem Symptoms Table.

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY

OK -- REPLACE SKID CONTROL ECU
