Diagnosis System
CONVERTIBLE: RETRACTABLE HARDTOP SYSTEM: DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM
1. DESCRIPTION
Retractable hardtop system data and Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) can be read using the Data Link Connector 3 (DLC3) of the vehicle. When the system seems to be malfunctioning, use the Techstream to check for malfunctions and perform repairs.
2. CHECK DLC3
HINT
The vehicle's ECU uses ISO 9141-2 for communication. The terminal arrangement of the DLC3 complies with SAE J1962 and matches the ISO 9141-2 format.
* If the result is not as specified, the DLC3 may have a malfunction. Repair or replace the harness and connector.
HINT
Connect the cable of Techstream to the DLC3, turn the ignition switch ON and attempt to use Techstream. If the screen displays a communication error message, a problem exists in the vehicle side or Techstream side.
* If communication is normal when the Techstream is connected to another vehicle, inspect the DLC3 of the original vehicle.
* If communication is still not possible when the Techstream is connected to another vehicle, the problem is probably in the Techstream itself. Consult the Service Department listed in the Techstream's instruction manual.
3. CHECK INDICATOR LIGHT
(a) Prepare the vehicle by satisfying all of the following conditions:
(1) Vehicle speed is 5 km/h (3 mph) or less
(2) Luggage door opener main switch is ON
(3) Tonneau cover switch is ON (Only when roof is open)
(4) Luggage courtesy switch is ON
(b) Operate the sliding roof using the control switch and check that the indicator light operates as described in the table below.
HINT
*1: If the system activation conditions are not met, the indicator light will blink. If it does not, the indicator light may have a malfunction.
*2: Only when the control switch is being pressed.
