How To Proceed With Troubleshooting





DOOR LOCK: WIRELESS DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM: HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING

HINT
* The wireless door lock control system troubleshooting procedures are based on the premise that the power door lock control system and the power window control system are operating normally. Check the power door lock system Problem Symptoms Table and the power window control system Problem Symptoms Table first before troubleshooting the wireless door lock control system.
* Use this procedure to troubleshoot the wireless door lock control system.

1. VEHICLE BROUGHT TO WORKSHOP

NEXT -- Continue to next step.

2. INSPECT BATTERY VOLTAGE

Standard voltage:

11 to 14 V

If the voltage is below 11 V, recharge or replace the battery before proceeding.

NEXT -- Continue to next step.

3. INSPECT COMMUNICATION FUNCTION OF LARGE-SCALE MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM (BEAN)*

(a) Using the Techstream, check if the Multiplex Communication System (MPX) is functioning normally.

4. CHECK FOR DTC*

(a) Check for DTCs and note any codes that are output.

(b) Delete the DTC.

(c) Recheck for DTCs. Try to prompt the DTC by simulating the original activity that the DTC suggested.
