DESCRIPTION

The multi-display receives signals from the parking brake switch.

INSEPCTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK BRAKE WARNING LIGHT

(a) Check that the brake warning light comes on when the parking brake pedal is depressed, and goes off when the parking brake pedal is released.

NG -- CHECK WIRE HARNESS (PARKING BRAKE SWITCH - INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL)
OK -- Continue to next step.

2. INSPECT PARKING BRAKE SWITCH ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the parking brake switch.





(b) Measure the resistance of the switch.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPLACE PARKING BRAKE SWITCH ASSEMBLY
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (PARKING BRAKE SWITCH - INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL)

(a) Disconnect the M5 panel connector.





(b) Disconnect the P3 switch connector.

(c) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

4. INSPECT INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY CENTER

(a) Remove the instrument cluster finish panel sub-assembly center.





(b) Measure the resistance of the panel.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY CENTER

OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
