How To Proceed With Troubleshooting
ENGINE IMMOBILIZER: ENGINE IMMOBILIZER SYSTEM: HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING

* Use these procedures to troubleshoot the engine immobilizer system.

1. VEHICLE BROUGHT TO WORKSHOP
NEXT -- Continue to next step.
2. INSPECT BATTERY VOLTAGE
Standard voltage:
11 to 14 V
* If the voltage is below 11 V, recharge or replace the battery before proceeding.
NEXT -- Continue to next step.
3. CRANK ENGINE FOR MORE THAN 10 SECONDS
NEXT -- Continue to next step.
4. INSPECT COMMUNICATION FUNCTION OF LARGE-SCALE MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM (BEAN)*
(a) Using the Techstream, check if the Multiplex Communication System (MPX) is functioning normally Multiplex Communication System.
B -- Go to MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
A -- Continue to next step.
5. CHECK FOR DTC*
(a) Check for DTCs and note any codes that are output Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
(b) Clear the DTC.
(c) Recheck for DTCs. Based on the DTC output above, try to force output of the same SFI system DTC SFI System or engine immobilizer system DTC Engine Immobilizer System by simulating the symptoms indicated by the DTC.
