Security Horn Circuit

DESCRIPTION

When the theft deterrent system is operating, a relay in the theft warning ECU (theft deterrent ECU) turns ON and OFF continuously at 0.4 seconds intervals, causing the security horn to sound.

INSEPCTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (SECURITY HORN)

(a) Select the Active Test, use the Techstream (with CAN VIM) to generate a control command, and then check that the security horn sounds.

OK:

Security horn operates normally.

OK -- REPLACE THEFT WARNING ECU ASSEMBLY
NG -- Continue to next step.

2. INSPECT SECURITY HORN ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the security horn.





(b) Check operation of the horn.

OK:





NG -- REPLACE SECURITY HORN ASSEMBLY
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (THEFT WARNING ECU - SECURITY HORN)

(a) Disconnect the T7 ECU connector.

(b) Disconnect the T1 horn connector.





(c) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR

OK -- REPLACE THEFT WARNING ECU ASSEMBLY
