DESCRIPTION

This circuit indicates package tray switch No. 1 or No. 2 depending on the position of the package tray.

INSEPCTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (PACKAGE TRAY NO. 1, NO. 2)

(a) Check the Data List for proper functioning of the package tray No. 1and No. 2.

OK:

On the Techstream screen, each item changes between ON and OFF according to above chart.

OK -- REPLACE SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU
NG -- Continue to next step.

2. INSPECT SLIDE ROOF LIMIT SWITCH (PACKAGE TRAY NO. 1)

(a) Remove the slide roof limit switch Removal.





(b) Measure the resistance of the switch.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPLACE SLIDE ROOF LIMIT SWITCH
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. INSPECT SLIDE ROOF LIMIT SWITCH (PACKAGE TRAY NO. 2)

(a) Remove the slide roof limit switch Removal.





(b) Measure the resistance of the switch.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPLACE SLIDE ROOF LIMIT SWITCH
OK -- Continue to next step.

4. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (ECU - SLIDE ROOF LIMIT SWITCH (PACKAGE TRAY NO. 1, NO. 2))





(a) Disconnect the S17 and S18 ECU connectors.

(b) Disconnect the L7 and L29 switch connectors.

(c) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

5. CHECK SLIDE ROOF LIMIT SWITCH OPERATION (PACKAGE TRAY NO. 1)

(a) Half open the roof to the position where it does not interfere with the package tray trim by manual operation Procedures.





(b) Disconnect the P8 tray motor connector.

(c) Disconnect the L7 switch connector.

(d) Apply battery voltage to the tray motor terminal.

(e) Measure the resistance of the switch.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPLACE SLIDE ROOF LIMIT SWITCH
OK -- Continue to next step.

6. CHECK SLIDE ROOF LIMIT SWITCH OPERATION (PACKAGE TRAY NO. 2)

(a) Disconnect the P8 tray motor connector.





(b) Disconnect the L29 switch connector.

(c) Apply battery voltage to the tray motor terminal.

(d) Measure the resistance of the switch.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPLACE SLIDE ROOF LIMIT SWITCH

OK -- REPLACE SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU
