SLIDING ROOF / CONVERTIBLE: METAL TOP ROOF: INSTALLATION (Continued)

100. INSTALL ROPE HOOK ASSEMBLY (for Front LH)

(a) Install the rope hook assembly with the bolt.





(b) Engage the 2 claws.

101. INSTALL ROPE HOOK (for LH Side)

(a) Engage the claw to install the rope hook.





102. INSTALL LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR SIDE CUSHION RH (for LH Side)

(a) Engage the claw to install the luggage compartment door side cushion RH.





103. INSTALL PACKAGE TRAY TRIM SIDE COVER LH

(a) Connect the connector.

(b) Install the package tray trim side cover LH with the screw.





(c) Install the 2 bolts.

104. INSTALL TONNEAU COVER STOPPER SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

(a) Engage the 3 claws to install the tonneau cover stopper sub-assembly LH.





105. INSTALL NO. 2 LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR CUSHION (for LH Side)

(a) Install the snap ring and the No. 2 luggage compartment door cushion.





106. INSTALL LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER RH

Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

107. INSTALL REAR FLOOR FINISH SIDE PLATE RH

108. INSTALL LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER RH

(a) Engage the 2 clips and 2 claws to install the luggage compartment trim cover RH.





(b) Engage the 3 clips.

109. INSTALL ROPE HOOK ASSEMBLY (for Front RH)

(a) Install the rope hook assembly with the bolt.





(b) Engage the 2 claws.

110. INSTALL ROPE HOOK (for RH Side)

(a) Engage the claw to install the rope hook.

112. INSTALL PACKAGE TRAY TRIM SIDE COVER RH

(a) Connect the 2 connectors.

(b) Install the package tray trim side cover RH with the screw.





(c) Install the 2 bolts.

115. INSTALL LOWER INNER LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER

(a) Engage the 3 clips to install the luggage compartment trim cover inner lower.





116. INSTALL REAR LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER

(a) Engage the 4 clips to install the rear luggage compartment trim cover.





(b) Engage the 5 clips.





117. INSTALL ROPE HOOK ASSEMBLY (for Rear Side)

(a) Install the 2 rope hook assemblies with the 2 bolts.





(b) Engage the 2 claws.

Engage the claws of the 2 rope hook assemblies.

118. INSTALL LUGGAGE DOOR LOCK PROTECTOR

(a) Engage the 2 claws to install the luggage door lock protector.





119. INSTALL DECK SIDE TRIM BOX LH

(a) Connect the connector.





(b) Engage the clip to install the deck side trim box LH.

120. INSTALL DECK SIDE TRIM BOX RH

(a) Connect the connector.





(b) Engage the clip to install the deck side trim box RH.

121. INSTALL SPARE WHEEL COVER TRAY ASSEMBLY (W/O Spare Tire)

(a) Install the spare wheel cover tray assembly.





122. INSTALL SPARE TIRE (W/ Spare Tire)

(a) Install the spare wheel cushion.





124. INSTALL LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT FLOOR MAT (W/O Spare Tire)

(a) Install the luggage compartment floor mat.





125. INSTALL LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT FLOOR MAT (W/ Spare Tire)

(a) Install the luggage compartment floor mat.





126. INSTALL TONNEAU COVER ASSEMBLY

(a) Install the tonneau cover assembly with the 2 bolts.





(b) Engage the 2 claws.

HINT
Engage the claws of the tonneau cover assembly.

(c) Move the tonneau cover to the position shown in the illustration.





127. SET METAL TOP ROOF

(a) Stow the roof in the luggage compartment.





NOTICE:
* Perform this operation using 2 persons.
* Synchronize the movement of the left and right sides of the roof when moving it.
128. SET LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Lower the luggage link by slowly applying downward force.





NOTICE:
* Perform this operation using 2 persons.
* Synchronize the movement of the left and right sides of the luggage compartment door when moving it.
* A large amount of force is required to make the luggage link start moving down.
(b) Close the back of the luggage compartment door normally.

129. SET PACKAGE TRAY TRIM BRACKET

(a) Install the package tray side bracket from each side.

(1) Remove the bolts and clean the bolt holes with non-residue solvent.

(2) Slide the package tray side bracket toward the rear of the vehicle and connect the package tray side bracket from the removable roof lock.

NOTICE:
Be careful when sliding the RH side, because a limit switch is attached to it.

(3) Apply Toyota genuine adhesive1324, Three Bond 1324, or equivalent to the threads of the bolts.

(4) Using a socket hexagon wrench 5, install the 2 bolts and package tray side bracket from each side.





Torque : 19 Nm (194 kgf-cm, 19 ft-lbf)

(b) Use a wrench to move the package tray trim bracket to the position shown in the illustration.





130. TEMPORARILY TIGHTEN PACKAGE TRAY PANEL (for Rear Side)

(a) Temporarily install the package tray panel with the 6 bolts.





131. TEMPORARILY TIGHTEN PACKAGE TRAY PANEL (for Front Side)

(a) Temporarily install the package tray panel with the 4 bolts.





132. INSPECT FITTING OF PACKAGE TRAY PANEL

(a) Check the fit of the package tray panels.

HINT
* If any of the measurements is out of the standard, make adjustments by moving the package tray panels and the package tray trim bracket.
* Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.
133. FULLY TIGHTEN PACKAGE TRAY TRIM BRACKET

(a) Fully tighten the package tray trim bracket with the 4 nuts.





Torque : 19 Nm (194 kgf-cm, 14 ft-lbf)

134. FULLY TIGHTEN PACKAGE TRAY PANEL (for Rear Side)

(a) Remove the bolts and clean the bolt holes with non-residue solvent.

HINT
To prevent the adjustment from being affected, perform this step by only removing 2 bolts at a time.





(b) Apply Toyota genuine adhesive 1324, Three Bond 1324, or equivalent to the threads of the bolts.

(c) Fully tighten the package tray panel with the 6 bolts.

Torque : 7.5 Nm (76 kgf-cm, 66 in-lbf)

135. FULLY TIGHTEN PACKAGE TRAY PANEL (for Front Side)

(a) Remove the bolts and clean the bolt holes with non-residue solvent.

HINT
To prevent the adjustment from being affected, perform this step by only removing 2 bolts at a time.





(b) Apply Toyota genuine adhesive 1324, Three Bond 1324, or equivalent to the threads of the bolts.

(c) Fully tighten the package tray panel with the 4 bolts.

Torque : 7.5 Nm (76 kgf-cm, 66 in-lbf)

136. SET LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR

(a) Open the luggage compartment door.

(b) Pull the emergency release cable at each luggage compartment door hinge to release the left and right closer locks.





(c) Hold the luggage compartment door by the luggage compartment door hinge and move it to the position shown in the illustration.





NOTICE:
* Perform this operation using 2 persons.
* Synchronize the movement of the left and right sides of the luggage compartment door when moving it.
* A large amount of force is required to open the front of the luggage compartment door. Perform the operation slowly.
* When moving the luggage compartment door, be careful not to apply force to the No. 1 and No. 2 package tray trim hinges.
137. INSTALL PACKAGE TRAY TRIM COVER

(a) Engage the 5 guides.





(b) Engage the 5 clips to install the package tray trim cover.

138. INSTALL UNDER PACKAGE TRAY TRIM COVER

(a) Engage the 5 guides.





(b) Engage the 5 clips to install the package tray trim cover under.

139. INSTALL ROOM PARTITION TRIM (for LH Side)

(a) Engage the 2 claws to install the room partition trim.





(b) Engage the 2 clips.

154. INSTALL NO. 2 PACKAGE TRAY TRIM PANEL ASSEMBLY

(a) Engage the 4 clips to install the No. 2 package tray trim panel assembly.





155. INSTALL PACKAGE TRAY TRIM PANEL ASSEMBLY

156. SET LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR

(a) Lower the luggage link by slowly applying downward force.





NOTICE:
* Perform this operation using 2 persons.
* Synchronize the movement of the left and right sides of the luggage compartment door when moving it.
* A large amount of force is required to make the luggage link start moving down.
(b) Close the luggage compartment door.

(c) Set the luggage compartment door hinge assembly LH and RH to the stowed position manually and then move it to the initial position by operating the closer using the Active Test Scan Tool Testing and Procedures

157. INSPECT FITTING OF PACKAGE TRAY TRIM COVER

(a) Check the fit of the package tray trim covers.

HINT
If any of the measurements is out of the standard, return to Inspect Fit of Package Tray Panel and repeat the adjustment procedure starting at that step.

158. CLOSE METAL TOP ROOF

(a) Close the metal top roof by using retractable hardtop system.

159. REMOVE TONNEAU COVER ASSEMBLY

(a) Using a screwdriver, disengage the 2 claws.

HINT
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

(b) Remove the 2 bolts and tonneau cover assembly.

160. INSTALL FRONT LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER

(a) Engage the 4 clips to install the front luggage compartment trim cover.





161. INSTALL SLIDING ROOF GUIDE RAIL STOPPER

(a) Install the snap ring and the sliding roof guide rail stopper.





162. INSTALL TONNEAU COVER HOOK HOLDER

(a) Attach the lower part of the tonneau cover hook holder.





(b) Turn the top of the tonneau cover hook holder 45 degrees counterclockwise to install the tonneau cover hook holder.

163. INSTALL TONNEAU COVER ASSEMBLY

(a) Install the tonneau cover assembly with the 2 bolts.





(b) Engage the 2 claws.

HINT
Engage the claws of the tonneau cover assembly.

(c) Move the tonneau cover to the position shown in the illustration.





164. ADJUST LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR

(a) Adjust the luggage compartment door Adjustments.

165. INSPECT RETRACTABLE HARDTOP SYSTEM

(a) Inspect the retractable hardtop system Operation Check.

166. INSPECT FOR WATER LEAKS

(a) After adjusting the metal top roof, inspect for water leaks.

(b) If there are any leaks, readjust the metal top roof or adjust the window glass Reassembly for front door glass, Installation for quarter window glass.).
