INTERIOR PANELS / TRIM: INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD: REMOVAL
1. PRECAUTION
Service Precautions
NOTICE:
W/ Navigation System for HDD:
After the engine switch is turned off, the display and navigation module display (HDD navigation system) records various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, make sure to wait at least 60 seconds before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal Service Precautions.
2. ALIGN FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD
3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
4. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Automatic Transmission)
(a) Turn the shift lever knob counterclockwise and remove the shift lever knob sub-assembly.
5. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Manual Transmission)
(a) Turn the shift lever knob counterclockwise and remove the shift lever knob sub-assembly.
6. REMOVE UPPER NO. 1 CONSOLE PANEL GARNISH (for Automatic Transmission)
(a) Using a moulding remover, disengage the claw.
(b) Pull the upper No. 1 console panel garnish in the direction indicated by the arrow to disengage the 2 clips and remove the upper No. 1 console panel garnish.
7. REMOVE UPPER NO. 2 CONSOLE PANEL GARNISH (for Automatic Transmission)
(a) Using a moulding remover, disengage the claw.
(b) Pull the upper No. 2 console panel garnish in the direction indicated by the arrow to disengage the 2 clips and remove the upper No. 2 console panel garnish.
8. REMOVE CONSOLE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Automatic Transmission)
(a) Disengage the 8 clips.
(b) Disconnect the connectors and remove the console panel sub-assembly.
9. REMOVE REAR CONSOLE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Manual Transmission)
(a) Pull the rear console panel sub-assembly in the direction indicated by the arrow to disengage the 7 claws and 2 clips, and remove the rear console panel sub-assembly.
(b) W/ Seat Heater System:
(1) Disconnect the connector.
10. REMOVE FRONT CONSOLE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Manual Transmission)
(a) Open the snap.
(b) Pull the front console panel sub-assembly in the direction indicated by the arrow to disengage the 6 clips and remove the front console panel sub-assembly.
11. REMOVE FRONT ASH RECEPTACLE ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the 2 screws [E].
(b) Pull the front ash receptacle assembly in the direction indicated by the arrow to disconnect the connectors and remove the front ash receptacle assembly.
12. REMOVE REAR ASH RECEPTACLE ASSEMBLY Removal
13. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX REGISTER ASSEMBLY Removal
14. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX Removal
15. REMOVE NO. 3 INSTRUMENT PANEL REGISTER ASSEMBLY
(a) Using a screwdriver, disengage the 4 claws.

(b) Apply protective tape to the areas shown in the illustration.

(c) Using a moulding remover, disengage the 4 claws starting from the left of the No. 3 instrument panel register assembly. Disengage the remaining 3 claws by pulling the No. 3 instrument panel register assembly by hand.
NOTICE:
Do not pry the lower part of the No. 3 instrument panel register assembly. Doing so may damage the assembly.
(d) Disconnect the connector and remove the No. 3 instrument panel register assembly.
16. REMOVE CENTER LOWER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL
(a) Disengage the 4 claws to remove the center lower instrument cluster finish panel.
17. REMOVE DISPLAY AND NAVIGATION MODULE DISPLAY WITH RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY (W/ Navigation System) Removal
18. REMOVE INTEGRATION CONTROL PANEL WITH RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY (W/O Navigation System) Removal
19. REMOVE LOWER NO. 3 STEERING WHEEL COVER Removal
20. REMOVE LOWER NO. 2 STEERING WHEEL COVER Removal
21. REMOVE STEERING PAD Removal
22. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY Removal
23. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN COVER (for Lower Side) Removal
24. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN COVER (for Upper Side) Removal
25. REMOVE TURN SIGNAL SWITCH ASSEMBLY WITH SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal
26. REMOVE DOOR SCUFF PLATE ASSEMBLY LH Removal
27. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM COVER LH Removal
28. REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL LH
(a) Using a moulding remover, disengage the 5 claws and 3 clips to remove the instrument side panel LH.
29. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the 2 screws [D].

(b) Push the 2 claws in the direction indicated by the arrow to disengage them.
(c) Remove the No. 1 instrument panel under cover sub-assembly from the guide as shown in the illustration and pull the cover toward the rear of the vehicle.
(d) Disconnect the connectors and remove the No. 1 instrument panel under cover sub-assembly.
30. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Disengage the 7 clips.
(b) Disconnect the connectors and remove the lower instrument panel finish panel sub-assembly.
31. REMOVE DRIVER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY Removal
32. REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the 2 screws [F] and 2 clips.
(b) Disengage the 2 claws and remove the instrument cluster finish panel sub-assembly.
33. REMOVE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY
(a) Using a screwdriver, disengage the 2 claws.

(a) Using a moulding remover, disengage the 4 clips.
(b) Disconnect the connector and remove the No. 2 instrument panel under cover sub-assembly
38. REMOVE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY Removal
39. REMOVE GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the 5 screws [D].
(b) Disengage the 2 claws.
(c) Disconnect the connectors and remove the glove compartment door assembly.
40. REMOVE POWER SOURCE CONTROL ECU Removal
41. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH Removal
42. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH RH

Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side Removal.
43. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL REGISTER ASSEMBLY
(a) Pull the No. 1 instrument panel register assembly in the direction indicated by the arrow to disengage the 7 claws and 2 clips, and then disconnect the connector and remove the No. 1 instrument panel register assembly.
44. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL REGISTER ASSEMBLY
(a) Pull the No. 2 instrument panel register assembly in the direction indicated by the arrow to disengage the 4 claws and 2 clips, and then disconnect the connector and remove the No. 2 instrument panel register.
45. REMOVE NO. 3 INSTRUMENT PANEL SPEAKER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Using a screwdriver, disengage the 7 claws and 2 clips, and remove the No. 3 instrument panel speaker panel sub-assembly.

46. REMOVE FRONT NO. 4 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY (W/ Front Center Speaker) Removal

(a) Remove the 2 clips and No. 2 console box duct.
48. REMOVE NO. 2 CONSOLE BOX DUCT (for Manual Transmission)
(a) Remove the clip and No. 2 console box duct.
49. REMOVE NO. 1 CONSOLE BOX DUCT
(a) Remove the clip and No. 1 console box duct.
50. DISCONNECT INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE Removal
51. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD ASSEMBLY
(a) Disengage each clamp.
(b) Disconnect each connector.
(c) Disengage the 2 claws and separate the cooler thermistor.
(d) Remove the 6 bolts [C] and nut [G].
(e) Remove the 2 passenger airbag bolts [A] or [B].
(f) Disengage the 2 clamps.
(g) Disengage the 5 claws and remove the instrument panel safety pad assembly.

(a) Disengage the 4 claws to remove the 4 instrument panel clips.
