Removal





AIR CONDITIONING: AIR CONDITIONING UNIT: REMOVAL

1. ALIGN FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD

2. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL Removal

3. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH Removal

4. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER RH Removal

5. DISCHARGE REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION

(a) Start up the engine.

(b) Turn the A/C switch on.

(c) Operate the cooler compressor at an engine rpm of approximately 1,000 for 5 to 6 minutes to circulate the refrigerant and collect compressor oil remaining in each component into the cooler compressor as much as possible.

(d) Stop the engine.

(e) Using SST, let the refrigerant gas out.

6. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY

CAUTION:
Wait for 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable to prevent airbag deployment Service Precautions

7. REMOVE FRONT UPPER FENDER PROTECTOR LH Removal

8. REMOVE FRONT UPPER FENDER PROTECTOR RH Removal

9. REMOVE ROOF DRIP SIDE FINISH MOULDING LH

10. REMOVE ROOF DRIP SIDE FINISH MOULDING RH Removal

11. REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARM HEAD CAP Removal

12. REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY LH Removal

13. REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY RH Removal

14. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

15. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR AND LINK ASSEMBLY Removal

16. SEPARATE SUCTION PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the bolt, and slide the hook connector.





(b) Disconnect the suction pipe sub-assembly.

(c) Remove the O-ring from the suction pipe sub-assembly.

NOTICE:
Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent moisture and foreign matter from entering.

17. SEPARATE LIQUID TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Disconnect the liquid tube sub-assembly.

(b) Remove the O-ring from the liquid tube sub-assembly.

NOTICE:
Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent moisture and foreign matter from entering.

18. REMOVE HEATER WATER OUTLET HOSE

(a) Using pliers, grip the claws of the clip and slide the clip to disconnect the heater water outlet hose.





19. REMOVE HEATER WATER INLET HOSE

HINT
Disconnection of the heater water outlet hose is the same as for the heater water inlet hose.

20. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Automatic Transmission) Removal

21. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Manual Transmission) Removal

22. REMOVE UPPER NO. 1 CONSOLE PANEL GARNISH (for Automatic Transmission) Removal

34. REMOVE LOWER NO. 2 STEERING WHEEL COVER Removal

67. DISCONNECT PASSENGER AIRBAG CONNECTOR Removal

71. REMOVE NO. 1 AIR DUCT Removal

72. REMOVE STEERING SLIDING YOKE SUB-ASSEMBLY (for 2WD) Removal

73. REMOVE NO. 2 STEERING INTERMEDIATE SHAFT ASSEMBLY (for 4WD) Removal

74. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN ASSEMBLY (for Manual Tilt) Removal

75. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN ASSEMBLY (for Power Tilt and Power Telescopic Steering Column) Removal

76. REMOVE LOWER DEFROSTER NOZZLE ASSEMBLY

(a) Release the 4 claws and remove the lower defroster nozzle assembly.





77. REMOVE MULTI-MEDIA INTERFACE ECU WITH BRACKET Removal

78. REMOVE CLEARANCE WARNING BUZZER (w/ Intuitive Parking Assist System) Removal

79. REMOVE SKID CONTROL BUZZER ASSEMBLY Removal

80. REMOVE DISTANCE CONTROL ECU (w/ Dynamic Radar Cruise Control System) Removal

81. REMOVE DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER) WITH BRACKET (w/ Manual (SOS) Switch) Removal

82. REMOVE IMMOBILIZER CODE ECU

83. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL REINFORCEMENT ASSEMBLY

(a) Disengage each clamp and disconnect each connector.

(b) Remove the 2 bolts and 2 earth wires.





(c) Remove the 3 nuts, 2 bolts and 2 junction blocks.

(d) Remove the cap and bolt [A].

(e) Remove the 3 bolts and nut.

(f) Remove the 6 caps.

(g) Remove the 2 bolts.

(h) Using a T40 "TORX" socket, remove the 4 "TORX" bolts.

NOTICE:
The "TORX" bolts on the passenger side can be removed with the collar for adjustment.

(i) Using a 12 mm hexagon wrench, remove the 2 collars and instrument panel reinforcement.

84. REMOVE AIR CONDITIONER UNIT ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the 2 screws, 3 bolts and air conditioner unit assembly.





(b) Using pliers, grip the claws of the clip and slide the clip to remove the heater water outlet hose.

(c) Using pliers, grip the claws of the clip and slide the clip to remove the heater water inlet hose.

85. REMOVE NO. 2 AIR DUCT

(a) Remove the screw and No. 2 air duct.





86. REMOVE AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY Removal

87. REMOVE BLOWER ASSEMBLY

(a) Disconnect the connector.





(b) Remove the screw.

(c) Release the claw and remove the blower assembly.
