Installation





SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM: SIDE AIRBAG SENSOR: INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL SIDE AIRBAG SENSOR

(a) Check that the engine switch is off.

(b) Check that the battery negative (-) terminal is disconnected.

CAUTION:
After disconnecting the negative battery terminal, wait for at least 90 seconds before starting the operation.

(c) Install the side airbag sensor with the 2 bolts.

Torque : 18 Nm (184 kgf-cm, 13 ft-lbf)





NOTICE:
* If the side airbag sensor has been dropped, or there are any cracks, dents or other defects in the case, bracket or connector, replace it with a new one.
* When installing the side airbag sensor, be careful that the SRS wiring does not interfere with other parts and that it is not pinched between other parts.
(d) Check that there is no looseness in the installation parts of the side airbag sensor.

(e) Connect the connector.

2. INSTALL WIRING HARNESS PROTECTOR

(a) Engage the 3 claws (A) and install the wiring harness protector to the body.





(b) Connect the connector.

(c) Engage the 2claws (B) and close the protector cover.

(d) Install the hole plug.

3. INSTALL FRONT SEAT BELT RETRACTOR COVER

(a) Engage the claw and install the front seat belt retractor cover to the body.





4. INSTALL FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY

(a) Install the front seat outer belt assembly with the 2 bolts. Be sure to tighten bolt A before tightening bolt B.





Bolt A - Torque : 7.5 Nm (77 kgf-cm, 66 in-lbf)

Bolt B - Torque : 42 Nm (428 kgf-cm, 31 ft-lbf)

(b) Connect the pretensioner connector labeled A, as show in the illustration.





(c) Connect the tension reducer connector labeled B.

(d) Connect the pre-collision safety connector labeled C.

5. INSTALL CENTER PILLAR GARNISH LOWER Installation

6. INSTALL REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE Installation

7. INSTALL FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE Installation

8. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

9. PERFORM INITIALIZATION

10. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT
