2GR-FSE ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEM: ECM: REMOVAL

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

2. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL Removal

3. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH Removal

4. REMOVE ECM BOX COVER





(a) Remove the 3 bolts and cover.

NOTICE:
* Remove all water on and around the cover.
* Perform the inspection indoors to avoid rain.
* Be sure to prevent water intrusion to the ECM (connectors and screw parts).
5. DISCONNECT WIRE HARNESS





(a) Using a screw driver, detach the 2 claws.

HINT
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

(b) Disconnect the 2 connector holders.

(c) Disconnect the 6 connectors.

6. REMOVE ECM





(a) Remove the 2 nuts and ECM.
