2. CLEAR DTC AND PERFORM STALL SPEED TEST

(a) Clear the DTCs DTC Check / Clear.

HINT
Write down the currently output DTCs before clearing them.

(b) Perform the stall speed test Mechanical System Tests.

B -- INSPECT SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE SLT
A -- Continue to next step.

3. INSPECT SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE SR AND SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE SL3

(a) Check the shift solenoid valve SR.

(1) Remove the shift solenoid valve SR AA80E Automatic Transmission.

(2) Measure the resistance of the shift solenoid valve.

Standard resistance:

(3) Connect the battery's positive (+) lead to the terminal of the solenoid valve connector, and the negative (-) lead to the solenoid body. Then check that the valve moves and makes an operating sound.

OK:

Valve moves and makes operating sound.

(b) Check the shift solenoid valve SL3.

(1) Remove the shift solenoid valve SL3 AA80E Automatic Transmission.

(2) Measure the resistance of the shift solenoid valve.

Standard resistance:

(3) Connect the battery's positive (+) lead with a 21 W bulb to terminal 2 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 1 of the solenoid valve connector. Then check that the valve moves and makes an operating sound.

OK:

Valve moves and makes operating sound.

Result:

C -- REPLACE SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE SL3 AA80E Automatic Transmission

B -- REPLACE SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE SR AA80E Automatic Transmission

A -- INSPECT TRANSMISSION VALVE BODY ASSEMBLY

4. CLEAR DTC AND PERFORM STALL SPEED TEST

(a) Clear the DTCs DTC Check / Clear.

HINT
Write down the currently output DTCs before clearing them.

(b) Perform the stall speed test Mechanical System Tests.

Result:

A -- INSPECT SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE SL3

5. CLEAR DTC AND PERFORM STALL SPEED TEST

(a) Clear the DTCs DTC Check / Clear.

(b) Perform the stall speed test Mechanical System Tests.

6. CLEAR DTC AND PERFORM RUNNING TEST

(a) Clear the DTCs DTC Check / Clear.

HINT
Write down the currently output DTCs before clearing them.

(b) Start the engine, drive the vehicle and perform the inspection.

A -- Continue to next step.

7. INSPECT SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE SL3

(a) Remove the shift solenoid valve SL3 AA80E Automatic Transmission.

(b) Measure the resistance of the shift solenoid valve.

Standard resistance:

(c) Connect the battery's positive (+) lead with a 21 W bulb to terminal 2 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 1 of the solenoid valve connector. Then check that the valve moves and makes an operating sound.

OK:

Valve moves and makes operating sound.

NG -- REPLACE SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE SL3 AA80E Automatic Transmission
OK -- Continue to next step.

8. INSPECT TRANSMISSION VALVE BODY ASSEMBLY

(a) Check the transmission valve body assembly AA80E Automatic Transmission.

OK:

There are no foreign objects on any valve.

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE TRANSMISSION VALVE BODY ASSEMBLY AA80E Automatic Transmission
OK -- Continue to next step.

9. INSPECT TORQUE CONVERTER CLUTCH ASSEMBLY

(a) Check the torque converter clutch assembly AA80E Automatic Transmission.

OK:

The torque converter clutch operates normally.

NG -- REPLACE TORQUE CONVERTER CLUTCH ASSEMBLY

OK -- REPAIR OR REPLACE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION ASSEMBLY Removal

10. INSPECT SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE SLT

(a) Remove the shift solenoid valve SLT AA80E Automatic Transmission.

(b) Measure the resistance of the shift solenoid valve.
