Linear Solenoid Circuit - UF1AE Transfer Case Four Wheel Drive Control System
UF1AE TRANSFER: FOUR WHEEL DRIVE CONTROL SYSTEM: C1298/98: Linear Solenoid Circuit
C1298/98 - Linear Solenoid Circuit
DESCRIPTION
* The 4WD control ECU receives signals from each sensor to control clutch fluid pressure for limiting the center differential operation, which distributes torque according to the driving conditions.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
HINT
Check the condition of each related circuit connector before troubleshooting Electronic Circuit Inspection Procedure.
PROCEDURE
1. INSPECT TRANSFER CONTROL SOLENOID ASSEMBLY
(a) Disconnect the transfer transmission wire connector.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Resistance:
NG -- INSPECT TRANSFER CONTROL SOLENOID ASSEMBLY
OK -- Continue to next step.
2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TRANSFER TRANSMISSION WIRE TO 4WD CONTROL ECU)
(a) Disconnect the 4WD control ECU connector.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Resistance:
Result:
C -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (SLC+, SLC- CIRCUIT)
B -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
A -- REPLACE 4WD CONTROL EECU
3. INSPECT TRANSFER CONTROL SOLENOID ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the transfer control solenoid assembly .
(b) Connect the battery's positive (+) terminal and a bulb of 12V - 21W to terminal 1 as shown in the illustration.
(c) Connect the battery's negative (-) terminal to terminal 2 and check if the solenoid operates.
OK:
The solenoid operates and an operating sound is heard.
(d) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Resistance:
NG -- REPLACE TRANSFER CONTROL SOLENOID ASSEMBLY
OK -- REPLACE TRANSFER TRANSMISSION WIRE
